Question about Student Tailgating

Hi everyone, I recently acquired a little tailgate grill and I was wondering what you had to do to get in the student lots. Like, how much is it and do I have to sign up for something? My only experience parking anywhere near the stadium on game day was when I got towed because I forgot to move my car freshman year, so I am kinda clueless what to do.

If you want to drive you will have to pay 20$ to get a day pass for any of the grass ("student") lots. If you just want to go and meet up with people it is free.

Lots open at 8:30am Saturday (6 hrs before kick), line will start forming towards Vet Med long before that. And if you have 1 too many throughout the day you can leave your car overnight, and if you happen to be under 21, watch out for po po cuz they'll find you!

Thanks for the advice, this if my first time actually being the tailgate car so I wasn't sure. So I just show up early and pay my 20$, cool. Also, I'm def over 21 so thankfully I don't have to worry about the 5-0.

When does everyone think the cars will start showing up in line?

I could see the line forming as early as tomorrow night. Any rumors people have heard?

Wouldn't surprise me to see a few cars in line by 7pm Friday. IMO the main lot with the students in it will be full by 10am at the latest.

This is what I thought. The bad thing is my wife worked for the ISU parking division from '05-'07 and I still can't remembered how busy it was. I guess I will just have to show up a little earlier and consume a few more "adult" beverages.
