Saw a ton of that in the 2nd half. Just horrible assignment discipline, pathetic tacking and marginal effort.

No one deserved to ensure that. Bad, bad football. One thing to get beat. Another to quit in the face of adversity.

They definitely quit from what I saw. I didn't see the first QTR.

The 4th QTR was laughable. Just a bunch of guys going through the motions.

That's a horrible sign in the first game of the season.

What's sad is that I think I first noticed it after NDSU's 80 yd TD run which closed it to 14-7.

We still had the lead by 7, but everyone's heads were hanging and everyone looked lifeless.

Hard to believe in a team that does not appear to believe in themselves.

It sure looked like they stopped believing early and than looked like they just quit caring and just wanted to go home. I've seen us mail it in before but not in a first game. Jeez, at least last year they fought back late against UNI like they cared.

Richardson is the biggest quitter I have ever seen playing QB. 2 losses against 1AA's he has quit on his teammates along with a bowl game.

How many third and longs does he throw a screen into coverage or hit a guy 5 yards short of the first down marker?

Grant Rohach doesn't deserve what happened to him.

This post is full of dumb. Richardson one lone "bright" spot on offense. Can't win when you can't run the ball.

Go away with your biased idiocy.

A lot of things to question......the football IQ is lacking too. the short throws on thrid and long, OUR soft pass coverage on 3rd and medium....just crap that a kid who has been playing football for fun their whole life should know.......unless it has been coached out of them. over-coaching these guys where they are running schemes insteead of playing ball. Messingham miight as well still be here.

I'm not convinced that Sam is very good, but there weren't exactly guys getting open for him to throw to.

Would you rather have him throw to the well-covered guys downfield or to the kinda-covered guy 5 yards short of the sticks who has a chance of making a play? It's not like those 5-yard dumpoffs were his first look, at least the ones in the last quarter where it's most noticeable because you need it the most.

I noticed the quit glaringly on Richardson's fumble that we recovered, I think it was early on in the 4th. Dagel put a hand on the D-Lineman, got spun, and stood there while his QB got rushed and sacked. Nice work there.

Yep I saw a lot of quit today. It was after about the upteenth sack of Sam today. The camera went to his face, and he had that same look of wtf that he had last year. Was so hopeful but not too sure how it's going to turn out this season

What's funny is the same people were ripping him for airing it out into "triple coverage" (which wasn't triple coverage but a deep zone defense converging on the throw) are now ripping him for throwing it to the only guy open.

You can't have it both ways.

He never finds second or third reads even on a screen that is clearly covered. Didn't even loook at Bibbs.

Sure a lot of the poor play can be blamed on teammates but you have to make a play here and there and he didn't once the game went south I think after the 14 point lead he had 1 decent scramble for about 15 and that was it nothing other than a couple short passes. Just brutal.

People can say what they want about SBR but his receivers were not getting separation, and when they did, weren't evading tacklers. CW said it best when he tweeted E.J Bibbs had 1 catch for 8 yards, supposedly our best player... Spare me
