She had issues the first time and was induced at 38 weeks and actually a day earlier than scheduled because she started having vision issues. She said she started getting some of that this past weekend so we will see what the doc says on Wednesday.

I'm sure you are and this is entirely unnecessary, but keep an eye on her. Pre-eclampsia is not something to mess with. I had recently read about a labor nurse dying of HELLP syndrome a while ago which led to a woman on Reddit (who had read the same story) getting herself into the doctor and caught in time. The labor nurse had protein/BP numbers that were elevated but not in the danger realm so it kept getting ignored. It became part of a recent NPR story on maternal death rates in the US. So now I'm paranoid about stuff like that. Have told DH that when we get to that point, start beating down doors if my BP is at borderline levels cause that equals super high for me.

If she starts complaining of nausea or stomach-ish pain (not contractions) go to the doctor and do not pass Go.

I'm probably being super alarmist and hopefully everything is totally fine for you guys.

I "labored" today...drove 280 miles down to Manchester including the 3 mph gridlock for miles at the Owatonna stretch of I-35 that is down to one lane...seemingly been this way forever but supposedly going to reopen this month. It's estate sale road trip time.

Got to the house and found my sister, who has been going through stuff the last two days, has been mostly rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Estate auction guy is hauling stuff away tomorrow and there is nothing I want from the house which my sister doesn't understand. I want to throw everything the auction does not take away into a dumpster and that seems to piss my sister off. Also BIL seems a little miffed that I was biking yesterday and not doing the deck chairs dance in Manchester. o_O I don't want this stuff and filled my car with old toys and porcelain signs to BRING to the auction. If you let me sort it's going into the garbage. It's your wife that can't let go of anything.

My job tonight was to sort all the stuff in my dad's huge old oak desk. Okay, that took like 20 minutes max and I tossed 90% in the trash. Next! My dad died almost 10 years ago, anything I wanted I took a long time ago. Everything outside of the auctionable cool stuff is trash.

/endrant

Thankfully we didn't have that problem when my grandparents passed away but I have a feeling we will when my parents pass away. We filled several large dumpsters cleaning that house out and 1.5 UHauls worth of stuff to the auction house in Coggon.

So Boxster walks into small town Iowa bar for supper tonight. Some huge, and obviously drunk guy, yells my last name across the bar. Several times. Keep in mind I moved away like 48 years ago. I go over to talk with him. I have no ******* idea who he is and admit it. Okay, I recognize his name after he gives it. Last image I have of this guy is as a tall and lean young 20's guy. Guy must go close to 3 bills now, no way I'd recognize him. It was kinda weird.

Stopped at the I-35 Clear Lake/Mason City exchange for a break and some feed 'n coffee. Did not see Riley (or Pants) who I thought might be hanging out there getting his feed on. Such much disappointment.

Been there on the house. My sister can't throw anything away and had a bunch of stuff she wanted from parents' house. Doesn't have room in her house. Has a storage unit full of crap already, mostly from video game addict nephew and his many college apartments before he started moving into furnished ones. She lucked out that we moved into the parents' house for a much needed bigger house and she just kept stuff here. Closet in guest room is full of stuff she wants to take "eventually."

Thanks for that info. She hasn't had any stomach pains other than random contractions to my knowledge.

And mold, apparently. Hotel is kind of a dump but it is what it is here . Some CWW is complaining like crazy at the front desk (after she and hubby had checked out, maybe the day before?) about mold smell. Not sure what her point is, place is a dump and it's like only in the 50's per night. Also the place is empty so they could have moved her if they asked. I think she wants them to refund them and to pledge to tear down the hotel of something. As a connoisseur of this dump I always ask for a 2nd floor room.

BTW, the TV graveyard is still going strong out back. :p

If MrsWx didn't have me doing a bunch of stuff (that I have been putting off) I would drive up to meet you/go trout fishing.

Good day at work and got home in time to sneak in the 420 bike ride, did it in pretty good time it's amazing what a motivator the dislike of road riding in the dark can be. Boxster would have been at home nice brisk 10- 15 mph or so head wind for half the ride.
I will chuckle every time you reference the 420 bike ride and will think about some sort of Doritos reference.

Another 1st day of school completed. It's weird having no child going to elementary school and two (2!) in high school. Also, at the middle school bus stop, the only parents that were allowed to be there had daughters.

At our bus stop, one 3rd grader was too cool to have her mom there long. (Both the child and the mother are a pice of work, though) Our kids will have parents there all through high school. :)
