Yesterday was awesome.....raked the front yard, cleaned debris out from the front flower beds and shrubs, put hinges on all 7 of my downspouts (so I don't have to move them every time I mow), filled the birdfeeders, and got old birds' nests out of the trees and satellite dish. I love spring yardwork!

And it felt so darn good to be out in the sun in shorts and a T-shirt.........

Between flying, getting a kitten for LittleWx and going to a improv show Saturday was packed. Yesterday I was able to get all of the sticks that fell over the winter picked up, leaves out of the fence and get crabgrass preventer down. Even got the snowblower and shovels taken to my parents storage garage so we have completely moved passed winter. This weeks task is starting to assemble the play set.

Hubby is hurting today after working on the yard yesterday. Also FINALLY got some softball in. The Hunziker fields are one of those places that has its own climate--at least 10 degrees cooler there when any kind of wind blows. But still awesome weather for preseason ball.

I played my last softball game competitively back in 2000 - it was Men's 40-and-over nationals in Aurora, CO. I still miss playing, though...golf is my substitute. BTW, playing in altitude is eye-opening, at least until you get acclimated to the thin air!!!

Spring cleaning garbage pick up today. Got a brand new grill. A Nexgrill, with stainless steel grate and four burners. Cost about $270 at Home Depot. A Consumer Reports best buy.

So....you bought the grill, and are setting your old one out for the hillbillies to pick up? Or are you telling us you scavenged this thing yourself?

It’s all good as long as he wasn’t a jerk and did the exchange program. Had an a$$ once do that in my yard and left stuff they refused to pick up.

Wife and I definitely have different philosophies on child rearing. I’m more of an instructor, then explain if a mistake was made or how I would have came to a different answer. Wife believes in basic helicoptering. Makes for some fun discussions. To me, it’s good for them to get kicked in the teeth by things so they learn to become resilient and self reliant. Realized at after prom that there are a lot of either helicopters of youth relievers for parents out there.

You didn't have to buy a get a cat just to keep me away (effective as it is). Sold the house in Manchester so not down that way much anymore.
