Does every BOR publish their meetings like this, or is CU just making news because they are the only one that makes a habit of specifically making a public notice of every meeting, whether it is important or not.
The BOR in Iowa posts a notice and agenda before every meeting they have. Part of the rules surrounding public meetings.
I think they want just 75 from NBC so the ACC portion gets them closer to equal the B1G. 75+15 = 90
Closer to the 80 to 100 per school average that is reported for the B1G.
I just find it odd that non of these other schools BORs are having meetings of any kind. Or that CUs are the only one anyone is watching.
I thought they had to give public notice, but I didnt know how much they really did/could skirt that rule, and if it depended on the subject matter on what meetings were published.
I guess I didnt know if these were subject to the same "Public meeting" rules etc if they are technically not public. etc.
I am sure some of you guys know more about how these BORs are governed than I do and can give me some insight.
What might T.Boone Pickens have done for Okie St when OuT bailed for the SEC?

Dodd blocked anyone from replying to that story, unless he mentions them. He is such a loser.
I am sure it varies by state, as do the ways a board may circumvent those rules.
It may also vary in each state to which degree the regents are involved in this decision. Look at UCLA, which was able to make the move without prior Regents approval.
Colorado may be a state where the regents are more directly involved.
How many know to watch sports on it?
Likely showing my age, as people are more channel blind now, but lead-ins, hype, and context still have an impact on ratings and exposure. I think conferences and games do benefit from all the promotion that comes on their 24/7 channels.
In the end, whatever allows the Big 12 to expand with PAC and continue on the path to P3 will be good. T1 on a NBC (playing off the ND draw) and replacing that afternoon SEC game on CBS with Big 12 would be a near 180 from where things looked last summer. Then T2 on USA and/or something like FS1, and the P3 can compete as the "other guy". ISU would have equal or better exposure, CFP access than before
Anyone who watches sports on NBC should know that sports are also on USA and Peacock, given the number of in-event promos.
Another thing about CU is they have been through it once already. So the regents may have put a process in place the last time for future moves and discussions. So CU has to operate within that framework.

Generally speaking, if it's an entity with elected membership (public institution B's of R would apply), it's subject to Open Meetings Act. Some exceptions could apply, but that's a blanket basic.
CU's recent meetings are getting more attention than normal, for obvious reasons with this topic ... so a lot of meetings tend to go unnoticed.
