I think its funny when they show their sold out stadium and its clearly still only 3/4 full. There is a lot of empty seats for a sold out stadium the last 2 games.

His response to the Wisconsin rumor questions sure weren’t definitive in squashing it.
Only way anyone quashes any of these rumors is if they announce a new extension with larger buyout etc.
That gives the most solid statement, but even then these big money donors will still want to come try to buy out even a brand new contract if they wanted someone enough. Though it would be much much more unlikely.
No "firmly entrenched" "Happy in Kansas" etc type statement is ever going to mean anything.
ESPN and Fox have spoken with their (lack of) actions and saving the PAC10.
My new dream scenario is the Big 12 is offered enough to entice Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Washington. We drop either BYU or Houston. That would give the conference 16 teans and clearly put it in the P3.
Give me BYU over Colorado and then I would be cool with that. Colorado is pretty worthless for the most part honestly. They are in a weird position with their location, culture, etc.
Also before anyone takes a suggestion seriously about dropping one of the new schools, everyone knows the new four adds aren’t going anywhere. Just hypotheticals and fun.
I'd guess it becomes a bargaining tool and in case prospective jobs fall through, well at least they can go back to old reliable current gig.
Pac is hoping Amazon comes to save the day. If not, look for more cracks in that conference.

They had Yormark on GameDay for about 30 seconds this morning. They asked him one question about the strength of Big 12 football, and I thought it was really interesting that he went out of his way to pump up Big 12 basketball during that 30 second spot.
It makes me think that he truly wants to lean in on basketball moving forward. With other conferences pivoting to football at the expense of basketball (ie no more Big Ten b-ball on ESPN), it probably does make sense for us to lean in the opposite direction. It certainly differentiates us from the PAC, and it's something we can outcompete the BIG/SEC in.
I've got to imagine that the premier college basketball matchups in packed arenas that our conference provides will be attractive to networks/streamers.

Basketball is profitable. Football is more profitable.
Only because that part of the pie funds the NCAA. But from the perspective of a network, there's got to be good value there. I'd rather pay up for the Big 12, knowing that I get basketball eyeballs in addition to football eyeballs, than the pac-12 who's basketball product is probably even worse than the football product.
Basketball will never make more money than football, but there's got to be something we can leverage there in terms of giving the networks something valuable that the PAC can't.
