If it really is Oregon, I’d like it but always feel like they’d have an eye for the other girl next door.
That’s always going to be the case with anyone if the BIG or SEC come calling. Might as well get them and see what happens. The BIG could have already had them but Washington I would worry more about. I don’t think Oregon is as great as most think when it comes to the BIG

This is going to leave a couple current pac schools without a home, which is insane with their media day being a week ago. Just pure chaos. Glad to see the Big12 on the winning side of this one
I still feel bad for Oregon State and Wazzu. They are in a spot that they have absolutely no chance to win and they can't do anything about it.

Even if Oregon leaves at the next renewal, you might as well make money off them while they're here. It's a win for everybody for the next 5 years.

The key to me is to not give them 'texas-like' treatment.

You cash the checks. But if they want to leave so be it. You don't let them make demands contingent on staying at the next renewal.

So let's look at the other side a second. Suppose Colorado and Oregon do indeed join the Big12.
WTF happens to the PAC8??

Will they stay at 8? Do they add SMU, SDSt to get to 10 and hang on? Do the Arizonas follow to the Big12? Does the B1G now throw a lifeline to UW and Stanford? Does it just totally collapse and the leftovers merge the MWC?

Bad time to be a Wazzu or Oregon St fan. The Cal fan is probably used to sadness already.

100% and I think they'd be a better partner in those negotiations than Texas. I would imagine, those discussions have already happened and everybody is fully on board before the sides get into bed with each other.

Not exactly sure.
No
I'd still stay, get the easy auto bid, and collect the CFP checks. I'd use their leverage to negotiate unequal revenue sharing with the rest of the conference.

As long as OR/WA's share is within sniffing distance of the Big 12, it wouldn't matter to me what anyone else in the conference gets.

This will bide them until the 2030s to see what the B1G does.
it wouldn’t. The other 4 corners would run if they had to do unequal sharing.

Cal doesn't have fans.

The biggest chaos comes if the Big 12 takes Colorado and Oregon and then tells everybody else there's no room at the inn.

If Oregon (or Washington, Stanford, or Cal) go to the Big 12 with Colorado and the Big 12 decides to stay at 14 to see what happens with the ACC, Arizona, ASU, & Utah will have really misplayed this all.

If CU and OU jump, the PAC is dead. We just wait for UW and the other 3 corners to apply. Maybe we take all six, maybe we don’t. That’s a lot of mouths to feed and I don’t know there’s enough open TV spots to justify a contract to feed all those mouths. But that’s why we hired the best commissioner to find out.

I legit feel bad for the Oregon State and Washington State fans though. Fans that actually care about their teams, especially the Wazzu ones. They were awesome fans when we played them in the Alamo Bowl. But yes in this world unfortunately you have to survive and in the end I care about Iowa States future. Doesn’t mean I fully like it though.

That's exactly the thing with this move...Colorado will be the smallest story in all of this, and is just the first domino. All/Most other PAC schools will scramble now to find a new home. I would be surprised if the Big 10 and SEC do not add a PAC school or two out of this. I think the Big 12 gets 4 PAC teams and lands at 16 a year from now (CO, AZ, ASU, Oregon would be my guess).
