Why does this mean more than all the other sources or info?
Because it's Pete ******* Thamel

This is pretty much exactly how the USC/UCLA tweets played out. It went from "looking to move" to actually moving in like 2 days.

Also, no one at Colorado has refuted it. Their AD is the one who shot back at mHver for crying out loud haha.

YES!! Finally the tweet I've been refreshing my twitter feed for over a year to see!

No way this gets put out if it isn't legit. Sounds a lot like the USC/UCLA tweet in the OP.
Got a text from my SIL, Houston grad and has tie ins to the AD there. He said looks like Colorado to join conference tomorrow!

The only thing with Oregon always having an eye for the girl next door is they’re the only school I’d see as real poaching target down the road.

If CU and OU jump, the PAC is dead. We just wait for UW and the other 3 corners to apply. Maybe we take all six, maybe we don’t. That’s a lot of mouths to feed and I don’t know there’s enough open TV spots to justify a contract to feed all those mouths. But that’s why we hired the best commissioner to find out.
I don't think we could possibly take more than 2 more (4 total). After that, you are not adding games/timeslots with much value - that's the whole PAC problem. Heck, 2 might be the number, not even 4.

The PAC8/10 might end up with a $15M per team media deal.

At the same time, if they do leave, so what?

We can always choose to backfill, say with one of the pac-12 members that ends up left behind this time around.

That's exactly the thing with this move...Colorado will be the smallest story in all of this, and is just the first domino. All/Most other PAC schools will scramble now to find a new home. I would be surprised if the Big 10 and SEC do not add a PAC school or two out of this. I think the Big 12 gets 4 PAC teams and lands at 16 a year from now (CO, AZ, ASU, Oregon would be my guess).
Those 4 would be my personal favorite outcome at this point.

I would have said Utah before Oregon for geography and "keepability", but at this point, the heck with them. Nike/Oregon's hype machine and branding fits BY's target for younger, cooler.

Yah that’s pretty big for Scheer to be tweeting that.

True and if they do really well in the Big 12 and the next deal is really good perhaps then they do weigh access to the CFP and such. Doubtful but the BIG money won’t be nearly as insane in jump next time imo. That bubble with the media landscape has to level out at some point.
