Coming up on Big 10 Classics: Michael Jordan and the Legendary Big 10 1984 Carolina Tar Heels take on heated and classic Big 10 rival UVA from January 10, 1984.

Or after UNC goes through a decade of being average to bad in basketball before and after entering the B1G, B1G Fans:

'Welcome to a real conference!'

So who will be the next addition after CU?
My personal opinion is anyone we want from the PAC. Just speculation, but, O and W are currently talking to the Big 10 to see if there is any hope there, I don’t think there is and the Big 10 is busy with media days. By the end of next week, the Big 12’s mailbox will be full of applications to choose from. How could you possibly decide to stick around when there isn’t even any money on the table yet and won’t be until this storm subsides.

Man, Utah might actually get relegated, holy hell sone of these presidents made gigantic, program crushing mistakes.
Yep. I think we would have taken any four corner school if they were willing to be first to jump. It wasn't that hard to see this coming. I don't feel bad for any of the four corner schools that get left out at all. They all had a chance.

The nice thing about the ACC is if FSU goes to SEC that, at minimum, opens up 2 spots for the Big 12 to get to 18.
Great points about not doing too much right now. It’s inevitable that FSU and Clemson are SEC bound and B1G will want Carolina and Duke, but there will then be a lot of good fits for us wanting a new place to land…..Va Tech, NC state, Pitt or Syracuse to name a few. Remember a lot of ACC members are sorta new to the league. Clearly BY wants to brand as a coast to coast league.

Who’s next? You don’t hold spots for ACC do you?
Why would the Big12 hold spots for ACC schools?

The TV folks are going to let Yormark know which Pac or ACC schools meet or exceed $31.7M. If a school adds value, as long as ESPN/FOX are willing to invest, they are a take.

The Big10 and SEC have a higher hurdle, so fewer expansion schools: 20-24. But at the Big12's $31.7M threshold, no reason Big12 shouldn't be the biggest conference.

I know a handful of OSU fans personally. Great people, seems like an awesome college town. Seems like kindred spirits to ISU for sure. Very similar vibe and culture. Feels like losing something that helps make college football, college football.

If you want to categorize an entire fanbase, team, university, and town by a few loudmouths online, that's your prerogative I guess.
Were any of them ringing their hands over our fate? That was the question of the poster. There are nice people everywhere except for "you know who."

For now, you dont go past 16, and you only go to 16 if one of them is Oregon or Wash.
I think the Big12 has already decided it would take the 4 corner schools to get to 16. If ORWA are in play for Big12, I have no doubt Yormark would go to 18 teams. As long as ESPN/FOX are willing to pay $190.2M+ for the 6.

Then when ACC schools become available, add another 4 or 6.

For those who “feel bad” for Oregon State and Washington State in all of this, I ask…why??

Show me anyone…just one person…who is affiliated with either of those schools who was wringing their hands for us during all of this realignment stuff. I’m talking all the way back to when we were going to be relegated to the Big East over a decade ago.

EDIT: this is not directed exclusively at you @Gerbs. Just a general post that happened to be immediately after yours

I guess this could make things interesting if ACC jumps into the fray. However, I'm not sure how realistic them jumping in is.

I thought there was something about their GOR that restricted expansion. Something about bringing teams in may open it up for teams to leave. I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that somewhere at some point.

Quite the definitive release lol

Since the Pac isn't in a position to claim they are about to become a conference in the highest tier of FBS, what could they have said better than this? In hindsight, maybe it would have been better if they had just presented their members with a weaker media deal, lost who they were going to lose, and moved on with the prospect of becoming a conference that is only slightly better than the MW. But since they didn't, it's good that they at least said something without overpromising. But going forward, they should avoid making many statements and do whatever they can to at least become a strong G5 conference (which admittedly might be limited by MW exit fees).

Exactly. If you felt bad for them, guess you should have stayed up to midnight watching some ****** Wazzu v Cal football game to increase their ratings.

This is us or them stuff. Get over OSU and WSU.
