Recording HD BB and FB games

Does anyone know how I might record HD programs (i.e. BB and FB games) to keep long term (rather than just on a DVR)? :mask:

You'd probably need an hd capture card to get it on your computer.

Despite this (the VHS talk) starting as a joke there actually is a D-VHS standard that recorded in HD. Back when I bought my first HD set that was the only way to time shift HD programs but I never went with it and waited instead for DVRs to "catch up". You could even buy prerecorded movies back before HD-DVD and Blu-Ray came around. Google D-Theater and you will find HD movies that were available back then.

Back to the original question, if the games are over the air you could get something like an HD HomeRun and record the game directly and avoid the re-compression step that an HD capture card requires. Cable channels won't work though because they are encrypted.
