I’m really excited about this kid and expect him to be a baller. I don’t care what his offer list was. He’s from AJ Klein’s neck of the woods and his offer list wasn’t great either. I’m excited for Surges, Patton and all these big, physical young safeties.

Too many people get turned away by offer lists and over enticed by a four-star rating. In a different world, the star system would be leaned to include more five's and four's and be a better measuring stick.

But, with how it is now, offer sheets stand out and there's too many cases to count where lesser offer lists produced bright stars. Would say Campbell & his staff's emphasis on character really sticks out to me though

The only reason his offer list looks like it does is because he came to ISU’s camp without any exposure, blew the coaches away with his size and athleticism, and ISU and the coaches blew him away, so he committed and shut down his recruiting before anyone else could jump in.

Had he kept going to camps, things might have been different.

That’s the reason judging solely by offer lists isn’t always reliable.
