I wasn't able to attend last night. Can anyone say what the coaches talked about? Any good stories? Thanks
Agreed. I scanned Twitter all last night for pictures/videos because I couldn't make it. Looked like a great time!

I've attended this event for many years. Always a good time. Here's my input:

1. Don't like this venue...Whisky River's conf room. Too many lights. Not as good as Thunderhead a couple years ago, and not near as fun as when we held this at Keg Stand. But if politics dictate that we have to hold it here, so be it.
2. The weather situation hurt attendance, which was too bad. Roads were fine.
3. This is billed as a 'Recruiting Party'. Aside from the continous highlight loop that was on in the background, not one word was spoken about our recruiting class...or past classes. I've heard Coach's comments, like we all have, about how he doesn't like to talk about 'how great' any in-coming class is on paper...we're supposed to wait a few years before we judge. But if we're going to hold a 'Recruiting Party'...then let's talk about recruiting. Here's an idea for next year CF...let's have the staff evaluate and grade their FIRST recruiting class of 2016? That would be fun!
4. Coach DK McDonald is GREAT at these events! He really gets it. As he has done each of the past years, he makes the rounds to as many tables as he can and initiates talk with us fans. After all, that's why they're there, right? Most of the rest of the staff, like our other staff's of CPR, Chiz, and Mac, hung at the back of the room and talked amongst themselves. So not anything new here...just wish they would remember why they make the trip. We asked Coach McDonald about how he handles the objection of getting southern recruits to get over the 'fear' of going to a cold weather school, and he said all he has to do is remind them, if they think they're good enough to play in the NFL, they've got to learn to play in the cold. 'That usually does it' he said.
5. I know some don't agree with me on this one, but I would like Coach to take a couple minutes and just introduce his staff, tell us what they do for the team, where's they're from, and what area of the state/country they recruit...it's a recruiting party, right? We spent half the night trying to figure out who was who. Is that guy a coach? How about that guy?
6. Also spoke to Coach Mark Thurston, Asst. Director of Scouting. He recruits mostly Florida. Both he and Coach DK threw out the same response when we asked them who's a new name we should look for next year: Cordarrius Bailey. 'He's going to get some snaps!"

So again...a fun event that we all should put on our 'to do' list each year!

Seems odd, why bring your staff and then not make a wholehearted effort to mingle with the fans? I guess I would have forced my way in to talk to them. Yeah I actually thought people would have tidbits of info to share, but sounds like most folks just drink and chat with friends.

I'm VERY excited to hear them mention Cordarrius Bailey's name. I was pumped when he committed to us because I thought he looked like a beast on his vids. Glad to hear he's doing well. He lacked some weight I believe coming in, I wonder what he might be up to by now?

Didn't make it to this CF party but have attended in the past. We've also attended the signing day celebration hosted in the Sukup end zone by ISU. Much more information was given about the coaches and recruits at the ISU event we attended.
