I'm gonna say this report is a bit off. I just watched him walk on his own power to the bus. Looked a lot more like an ankle injury than a knee. I'm no reporter, just telling what I saw

I just cannot believe the oline did not help the qb more. AA was squashed numerous times today. Cm'n, oline, you must play better.

Fair enough guys. Let me take back the 'thank god' part of my original post. I would never wish a career ending injury on anyone and I should have been more selective with my wording.

That being said I am more than ready to see what any other quarterback can do given the weapons we have on offense. I have been waiting and waiting for this offense to take off under AA and it just never happened.

Is he currently the best option we have at qb? If so we have a way bigger problem..

Do you honestly believe the coaches aren't putting the best option out there?

I am so sick about hearing about all the "weapons" we have on offense. Sorry to break the news to you but we have a long ways to go as far as upgrading talent and speed to compete in the Big 12.

I feel really bad for Austen. What a class act this kid has been throughout his entire career at Iowa State. He will go down as one of my all time favorites. All my best Austen!

I'm not going to pile on Austen for today. Sure, he makes a lot of inaccurate throws but today you can pile on no one outside of the offensive line. They were dominated up front and were the main reason our offense was little to nonexistent.

3 initial thoughts on this after reading this thread:

1) Thank you AA for a lot of great games and for your team leadership through lots of adversity and coaching peril
2) I hope we use a lot of wildcat zone read with ARob and SJ like NU used Burkhead last week
3) AustinCyclone is the third completely idiotic cyclone fan I've met in Austin. Just living in the vicinity of the fickle fans at the University of Texas somehow makes all fans of all teams complete morons.
