So they want to breakup the big 12, and put the remaining teams with any value to the AAC where ESPN also owns the rights (for much less money). They do this to keep them away from fox or even cbs?

They want to do this so they can move OU and UT to the SEC next year and also pay no exit penalty or grant of rights issues. Nothing about this is in the interests of the 8 schools left.

They do it to dissolve the conference so they don’t have to pay the buyout for OU and UT plus the remaining 1.06 billion they owe through 2025.

Why would WVU or KU say something? If it's ACC obviously both would stand to benefit by joining. Someone didn't want this to happen and reported it to the Big 12. Makes me wonder...obviously could be a lower tier person in those universities but I don't know.
It has to be KU and they prefer the Big 10. If it was WV and they got an offer they would be gone already.

It's also quite possible they are pushing more than one conference but bowlsby only has receipts on one (like the AAC)

The American makes the most sense because they’re the one that would need bankrolling. The B1G/Pac/ACC can just offer and we’d all say yes. If the American just said “Hey you want in?” with no incentive or reasoning then we are hanging up the phone.
