I’m sorry, but ESPN is dumb as **** if their master plan was to try to get the rest of the big 12 to join the AAC.

“Hey guys, you know that absolute worst case scenario that could happen? How would you like to do that, but sooner AND while forgoing some UT and OU money?

"Sorry we blew up your conference. Here's 10 million dollars. Enjoy the AAC"

That's how little they think of us. Not surprising at all.

The American makes the most sense because they’re the one that would need bankrolling. The B1G/Pac/ACC can just offer and we’d all say yes. If the American just said “Hey you want in?” with no incentive or reasoning then we are hanging up the phone.

Also makes sense with their media coverage this past season ******** and moaning about how UC and Coastal had “no one to play”

But if those conferences don't see the value in the potential addition, a little cash might grease the wheels.

Can we appreciate for a moment Bob Bowlsby's signature?

The Big 8 members placed the bait in the trap, and ESPN fell for it. The remaining members will now get paid one way or another, either by TX/OU or directly by ESPN.

how is it wishful thinking, we could file a lawsuit today for conspiracy to induce breach of contract, this is not a joke we are not playing candy land, the poo has hit the fan
Lawsuit, counter suit, lengthy litigation, half-ass settlement, nobody wins. Rinse and repeat.

I'm old and jaded

So we had a media partner the league could've screwed over by adding teams back during the dog and pony show.....only to have that media partner conspire to **** us way the hell over.

This is not a friendly world

I don’t see this as bait so much as monumental hubris from ESPN. If the allegations are true, they are staring down huge potential liability and their embarrassing emails could become public in discovery.
