Re: Rhoade's Auburn stats

Just so we can finally make this clear....

Rhoads
Has
One
Actual
Definitive
Spelling

But yes, the stats look good. As I said in another thread, if he can split the difference between the averages he had last year and the averages ISU had last year (which would be about 25 points/game), ISU will be in a LOT of football games.

Re: Rhoade's Auburn stats

The last guy we brought in to coach ran some pretty stout defenses too. Of course I'm a little more inclined to believe that it was wasn't completely based on the quality of the players with PR. There's no doubt that he knows how to run a defense, but can he run a defense with the guys he has? I think he can make it work until his recruits start showing up, but everything is really hinging on whether or not he can mold the clay that he's been handed.

Compair the resumes of Chizik and Rhoads. I think they are similar. Chizik does have 2 13-0 seasons, but other than that they are about equal, IMO. Rhoads has coached with some great FB coaches and is not one to job jump. JP may have got a steal, IMO, he could have got a coach before he really got wanted. But I have been drinking Cy-aid for 2 days now.

I don't think that Rhoads will be a miracle worker without decent personnel--one thing we seemed to lack at certain positions last season. And I'm not talking about elite or dominant, just "decent".
