Don't worry, he'll announce the week of Farmageddon and getting every ******* call possible.

Seriously, our athletic department should send out a letter and mention since they already blatantly fixed last year's going away game for this fossil that they can't keep doing it every season.

It wasn't so many years ago that a truly bad Colorado team announced they were firing Dan Hawkins during the week leading up to our game, and they played their best game of the year and beat us.

Oh, come on, bhp! You're one of the resident stats geeks - surely you realize this is likely just confirmation bias at play. Who remembers the multitude of times when a retirement announcement led to a loss?

One would have to be more than a little naive to think these things don’t happen. Snyder is likely to get favorable treatment by the officials in his last game, regardless of the opponent. It’s just more likely if the opponent is a team like ISU (not seen as one that would challenge for a championship).

Should have rode into the sunset after last season. It'd be nice if they'd wait until after the season so that we can send him out with a beatdown.
OMG - I want a K-State beat down this year almost more than anything else. CMC isn't the run-up-the-score type, but I sure wish he would make an exception regarding Snyder.

Especially after what happened last year...

2004 wasn't the last game of the season and was at KSU. That win set up for the Missouri debacle the following week.

2005 was at home when that team was in the process of making it look like they'd figured it out.
In 2004 it was KSU’s last game of the year, and yes we still had the MU ********.

KSU, hands down, has owned us since 2008 - they have legitimately beaten us. But did you watch last year's game in Manhattan? That, by far, is the biggest hose job in ISU sports history. To have a head ref wave off 3 flags in one game that benefited the SAME team - whose coach, most people (including the refs) assumed, would retire at the end of the season - was a total travesty! The last one was especially egregious that cost us the ability to basically score to put the game out of reach OR, at the very least, bleed the clock to almost zero & bleed KSU out of timeouts. I expect us to beat KSU this year - but you can't put anything past the Big XII officials when it comes to favoritism (for another example: see the hose job vs UT that likely saved Mac Brown's job for the rest of that season).

Matt could have run the ball

I hope coach Snyder coaches the whole rest of the year and Kansas State has five wins when they roll into Ames. Even if the refs screw us like they did last year, as long as it's not worse than that, we will still beat them. I have a feeling we're going to curb stomp them. We owe them, I know as a fan I want to see it.
I remember them talking crap on their boards about us crying and melting down and everything else. Like they wouldn't have been pissed if they got screwed like we did. I saw some of their people actually bragging about how they won and finding it humorous the way they pulled it out. I wouldn't want a "W" if you didn't really win it, if the refs gave it to you.

I wonder if the timing of this rumor is a result of KU canning Beatty. Maybe they both have a similar shortlist? North Texas coach Seth Littrell?
Never thought about it that way before, maybe ISU can do some history here and get rid of two Kansas coaches in the same year.

I've responded to these kinds of threads on other boards occasionally. It's sad for me. I know Bill a little. Our son started at K-State just as coach Snyder turned the program around, then got his MBA the year Bishop took them to the front step of the national championship game.

Bill is a wonderful, caring, giving human being. He doesn't cheat the task of life. Never takes a shortcut. Has brought wonderful football to K-State and around it contributed immeasurably to Manhattan and the university.

So, this is no fun for me. I hate seeing it end. I don't like writing about it. But one thing is for sure, whoever follows Bill Snyder will have the same monumental task as replacing Knight at IU, Bo at Michigan, and Evashevski at Iowa.
I want you to know I feel like we were jobbed last year. Having said that, I have no doubt that coach Snyder has the utmost integrity, and honesty, and didn't have anything to do with it. I wish him the best, I know he's a good man and a truly worthy College Football Hall of Fame coach. I wish Coach Snyder nothing but the best, except 11/24/18.

There are a lot of cathartic ways I would like to see this one end:

1. Complete beat down, walk ons playing in the third quarter, lol
2. Last play of the game, K-State scores to be done one point....shanks the PAT off the upright
3. We score late with 8 seconds left on the clock, up 6 pts, kick off, K-State does a bunch of laterals and it works to get them to score...but right as their player is near the goal line they are flagged for celebration entering the endzone, wave off the score.
4. A game filled with booth reviews, flags and EVERYONE for us is overturned.

**bonus** because it's Bill's last game, Hayden Fry is in attendance as is Jacob Pullen, Michael Bishop, and other pesky former players of KSU, lol

I have to believe that Campbell has this game circled on the calendar. He would never admit it, but I have no doubt that he wants to destroy K-state this year. In CW's podcast with Lazzard and Lanning this summer they both mentioned how pissed he was in the locker room after that game.

ISU 187- KSU 0 #sharpie

His post game answers on the QB situation this year have been really out of character as well. He also had that situation with the kid in the summer who wanted to transfer. He seems to be miss applying his own standards to himself and its just out of character and makes me think he is losing what made him so special for so many years.

There have been quite a few comments lately that seem really out of character for him. I wonder if some of that is the result of the cancer treatments. I've known a few older folks who went through cancer treatments and were 95% of their normal selves afterwards but 5% of the time, they said or did things that were completely out of character.

Well...ISU got railroaded by the B12 officials last year to send him out a winner.

I can't be mad at Snyder...all reports are he's a good man and he's a hell of a football coach.

HOPEFULLY we don't get BUFU'd again by Big12 refs to send him out a winner.

I'm VERY optimistic that we go into that game to get our 8th win & put ourselves in the Big12 Championship game.
