Running Shoes

I have been working on getting into shape and recently decided I am going to start running instead of biking or the elliptical. I have always hated running and I think it has something to do with my former and possibly not having the right kind of shoes. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Ames/Des Moines area for shoe stores? I was told in Cedar Falls there is a store where they record you running to find the best shoe for your form. Are there any place like that in the Ames/Des Moines area? Thanks in advance.

Yup, Fitness Sports is the go-to in the area. Shame there isn't a running store right in Ames, though.

I don't shop in Des Moines but my running friends say good things about Fitness Sports and Kyle's Bikes. If you're looking online try roadrunnersports.com

Fitness Sports is fantastic. They won't pressure you into the most expensive shoes. I started wearing Altra's this August and can't imagine going back to Brooks. I love them.
