I am gold level donor. What are the chances of getting a football RV parking pass next year? Thinking of buying an RV for tailgating, but don't want to if the chances of getting a pass are slim to none.

I don't know....but I am the first to reply, which is fun to do. I really think we should open up more grass RV parking for you all....the small chance of rain/mud damage is outweighed by the benefit of partying more with receational vehicles.

It all depends on your points level. If you have been donating at the gold level for a while you may get it. I've been donating for 12 years but just upgraded to gold this year and I was the 7th man out.

Points aren’t based off of donations as much as they are season tickets you’ve bought and for how long. Say you’ve had football tickets for 25 years and basketball for the same time. You’d be in much better shape than someone who only had football for 20. One thing I’ve noticed is D1 isn’t full this year.

You could always use the Vet Med lot as a fall back plan if you don’t get a pass in the D lots or S8. It’s $40 and you can park there Friday night until Sunday.
Unless you want to park your RV close(r) to the stadium, the Vet Med lot is kind of a hidden gem.

Moved back to Iowa in spring of 2017 after living out of state for 25 years. So, I have only been a donor a couple years and this is my first year with football season tickets. Sounds like there isn't much of chance (unless of course I increase my donation level).

You probably will have 150 points by next year:

20 points for one year of FB tickets
100 points for next year's $1,000 Gold level donation.
30 points for $3,000 of all time giving.

You would have to adjust accordingly if there are other tickets (MBB or WBB) or you donated more than the minimum Gold level before or will next year.

Here is how the Cyclone Club points are calculated. Note that buying tickets is the quickest way to build them up but giving a lot in a single year can bump you up quite a bit for that year.

https://cyclones.com/sports/2015/3/2/GEN_2014010197.aspx

I also found this pdf that explains it differently: Priority Points

The link you posted doesn't calculate for the consecutive years of season tickets. And the one I posted doesn't appear to calculate for the "all time giving" points. I want to say the link I posted is more up-to-date as it's dated 6/6/16 and was linked from the priority seating section of the cyclone club website. The other is dated 3/2/15. It looks like they probably replaced the all-time giving with the consecutive years calculation between those years. That's my best guess anyway.

Look again. My link has 110 points for all of the season tickets the sample person has purchased all time. You may have not scrolled far enough down.

It appears that the only difference is they now count current year donations only in with the prior years' donations at the same rate rather than 10x previous years rate. Note that the text states that the points accumulate from year to year so prior year's giving is included.

I think I see it now, but that chart is confusing in that it's listing all five years but only calculating what you would get for that 5th year. I thought they were calculating for each year so you could find your total priority points for your account.

Keep in mind as well the points only matter at your level: if you've never purchased tickets before and just joined at the Gold level, if there's someone who's purchased tickets every year for the past 100 years but is donating at the $500 level, you'd take priority.

That being said, going from $1k to $2.5k is a big jump: if you're really into I'd say just buy the RV and hope for the best with the pass. If you don't get it, there are alternatives like the others have mentioned

With $1k being the minimum level to get an RV spot and me only being a 3 year donor and 1 year ticket holder - I would probably be the low person on the list.
