A wedding but You’re the missing the Point!

You're saving them money by staying home and not eating a dinner. I'm sure that if you boycott it, then the next person will take that into account. Otherwise, you're just allowing this to continue.

Because for 70% of people, their lives don't revolve around sports that heavily that they go and complain on a message board.
But yours obviously does, since you’re here on your high horse passing judgement on a message board.

I think a wedding really depends on the friends group.

Most cases, scheduling a wedding during the fall isnt a big deal, but scheduling a wedding on a fall saturday when half the guests are big football people who would likely be at a game is a bit inconsiderate.

No, it's just hard to read some of the complaining that constantly goes on on here about normal everyday life things. If it effects your life that much, don't fuc$ing go. It's not that hard to say "no". Grow a pair or don't *****.

Why? Why must people do this?
100% agree.

I missed the ISU / TOE games 4 years ago because of my cousin’s wedding. His reasoning was that they didn’t really care that much about sports. But at least realize many of your guests will care. So I went to the wedding and watched the game on my phone the whole time.

If only the Big 12 released their schedules a lot sooner; I’d plan a wedding around an Iowa State bye week..

Even then its a gamble. I ended up missing a game a few years ago because ESPN got a game switched well after the schedules released.

If it’s not your wedding (and maybe even if it is) you just don’t go. Be a man. Lay down the law!

I once skipped a medium close friend’s wedding for an ISU football home opener game. Me and about 4 other guys. We told him and he said “dude, I don’t blame you.” His fiance wanted to rush to the alter bc she was pregnant. He got divorced a few couple years later. We made the right decision.
