Nothing points you toward the exit quite like claiming conference superiority before a game.

Its odd how much more confident (or way less concerned) many are about Miss'iss than our opener with a 14 seed.
Any nervousness I had stemmed from wondering how the team would respond to the last week's "events". Question was answered affirmatively.

Pedulla had a day when we played Va Tech a few years ago. Knock on wood that doesn't happen again

I think it was a mix of hangovers from whatever went on last week and how the last month had been so rickety, along with not knowing how Lipsey would hold up against a team that was good from three which is a problem for ISU.

Repeating but for me now it's all icing and Miss is a really solid team. Lipsey is still limited and that could make things tough.

I like the Miss matchup vs. UNC's guards but ISU may need to play about as well as they have all season.

Regarding ball security, nobody in the SEC forces turnovers like Iowa State. And every game they played against the best at turning teams over, they lost - Vandy, Mizzou, A&M, MS State (X2). They still didn't turn it over a lot in those games, but the point is that the SEC teams apparently aren't great at turning teams over. Caveat here is the analytics should better account for this, but I don't understand them as well as I do for football.

MS is the best team in the SEC at turning teams over, so ball security for us will be really important.

But do we force turnovers at the same rate without Gilbert? And a limited Lipsey may not be as effective in that department too.

I've resigned to the fact that ISU is going to turn it over in weird ways because that's never gone away. It will be about limiting them.

MS will definitely be tougher than Libscomb and ISU can't just rely on driving to the lane.
