One part of me likes giving guys second chances but another part would prefer Rhoads doesn't start. He's got good running backs and he's getting good recruiting classes. I think at this point he should continue to build the program the same way he has for the past four years.

if it were a RS freshman or soph i could see it - treat it like a JUCO. However....football is vastly different than BBall. BBall is essentially a quick tutorial of plays/style away from being able to hit the court running. Football is a whole helluva lotta moving pieces.

So. Unless its the equivalent of a stud JUCO (in this case tranfer Dyer)...and a lack of RB depth (we good - both in terms of 1,2 and 3-4 year talent)...then i pass. If Dyer was a RS Soph, now we're talking.

One guy playing for one year can change a basketball program. One guy playing for one year will not have the same effect on a football team.

If the Chiz had enough with him and kicked him off the team, i don't think he is a good fit in Ames. Plus, a RB won't make that much difference if no one is blocking for him. I don't see him being a game changer.

This would be a third chance, apparently he was kicked out of Arkansas State too.

Agree. Probably also a risk of having one of our younger RBs transfer as well.

What do both Russell Wilson and Cam Newton have in common? They both play "the most important position". A one year player like that can make a difference there, but at RB? Not so much.

I tend to think that landing him could bring 2 or 3 extra wins to the season, get us into a good bowl and improve our exposure. Lots of upside, minimal downside and of course, they probably won't even consider it
