Right now we don't have a Top 25 team, we HAD a Top 10 preseason ranking. A team needs to earn their ranking each year and right now we haven't earned squat.
Right no
Ho about we fire Manning and let Breece and Brock call the plays?

Why doesn’t Purdy have the ok to call an audible? I have never seen him change the play on his own. If he has then I am missing it.

Was at UNI game and we played like . O line is not ready and maybe never will. We do not have any WR’s that can get free - a long term issue. Offense is inept. Hype machine got into a lot of players heads. Strength coach has made Rose bulky and slow. Breece lost weight and fell down like a feather. Back asswards all around. Special teams is trash. Be honest and take expectations down. We are not very good.Stop the ridiculous CFP talk and Heisman bs - none of that will happen after 2 lackluster debacles.

Honestly this is all on Tom Manning. He rarely put the offense in a play to succeed. He was out coached by an insane margin today and last week. He’s got to go
Its both. Manning sucks and Purdy is pretty good but not great. He can't win a game with his arm like the elite QB's in the country can.

I cannot believe 35% of fans on here voted yes...LMFAO.

If there were a single reason for the greatest 3-4 year run in the history of ISU football it is BROCK PURDY...and it isn't even close.

He had a really bad game...Unfortunatly vs a Top 10 defense.

I really love Dekkers upside and his future but the entirety of how this season goes is on Purdy.

Purdy was definately off today no doubt for whatever reason but 2 of those INT's aren't really on him.

1 was just a great defensive play by the lineman to get his hand up and another XH 100% has to catch that ball that went right off his hands..

Not to mention the 50/50 jump ball XH just fell while the Iowa defender completely out muscled him for the INT.

I agree with this. The deep pass that was Purdys first pic was a good call, just an absolutely abysmal throw by a 4th year starter. Brock under throws 90% of balls 30 yards down the field

Oh for godsakes...

I watched the Oregon/Ohio st game today..all of it. Entire game I kept saying oh i remember that player...yep that guy I remember..nearly every single player that whipped Ohio st today was exact same players we played in Bowl game and Whipped.

Breece looks like he put on muscle more than last year. Rose is not slow at all..

We've never looked good Week 1 under CMC....ever.

I don't think alot of people realize that we lost this game far more than Iowa beat ISU... It is crazy you even bring up anyone on our D after this game. Our D completely dominated that Iowa offense outside 1 drive and our D was starting nearly every possession around the 50 freaking yd line.

It is a really long season with alot of football left to be played. Every single goal is still in front of this team.

Yeah, it's all on Purdy, has nothing to do with him having an All-American running back and the best defensive teams we've ever had in school history the last few years. It's just been a one man show with him leading us to all this success.

I said yes, and honestly it has nothing to do with the second and third interceptions.

The first one was all on Purdy, X beat the corner deep even through a hold but the deep ball was both late and underthrown. Probably the best play call Manning made all day, really. Purdy works a lot better with a higher tempo and spread out attack, using read options and RPOs to open things up. If we're gonna stick with the current game plan, I think Dekkars fits better.

Verdell, you know, the guy who ran for almost 200 yards and 3 Tds didn't play in the Fiesta Bowl.

I am really worried about Manning. I thought maybe, after the Fiesta Bowl he had made a leap. He just kept hammering Bryce off the tackles cause that is what was working. But man, he just can‘t decide what he wants to do.

I am not sure what the answer here is. Gosh I wish he could figure it out and find his identity. He might be just too young. Not sure what it is, it is almost like he has to have this perfectly balanced offense and won’t keep going to what is working. He has his moments of being really good, but he just gets out coached way too much and his side of the ball is only ready to play about half the time.

Not sure what you do here if you Campbell, you have a coordinator that has pretty clearly been exposed the last two weeks and has no answers. Maybe Tom needs a little more help in certain situations. Not a great situation to be in.

Can I just say that adding weight and muscle in the off-season isn't always the right idea? There are running backs who do it every year in the NFL and it never seems to be a good thing.

I agree that there is still a lot of season left. But the glaring issues we've seen year in and year out in September STILL not being addressed, even after Campbell said over and over that they're focusing on it is concerning.

Go back and look at Purdy's last 16 games, they have have not looked that impressive statistically including:

-7 games with less than 200 yards passing.
-11 games with 1 or less TD passes

Breece and the D have been carrying this team. Purdy is a good game manager for Campbell's system. But he has routinely not shown up for:
-Early games against cupcakes where your QB should set the tone
-Iowa games
-Championship and Bowl games

I honestly don't think it would be a huge drop off
The only season he had much success down the field was when Hakeem caught everything in congested catch scenarios. Been a huge weakness since.

Does Dekkars fix everything overnight? Nope. But he pretty obviously has a bigger arm and if he's successful I think he could unlock a ceiling the offense hasn't had in a while.
