So some people leave the stadium just so they can use bathrooms outside the stadium? I get the appeal to running to the car for a beer (I don't agree with it), but the porta-potties as a better option from a bathroom perspective is a new one to me.
I've never experienced a bathroom wait that it would be significantly faster to leave the stadium. I don't see bathroom waits being a problem at JTS, or being anything out of the ordinary at most places.

There might be a handful of power conference teams that allow re-entry, but I think those are pretty rare. There's not much you can do about SEZ and club folks not being in their seats, but allowing re-entry certainly contributes to this, and you can control it. I really don't think there are really THAT many people that will flip their decision to go to games because they can't leave and re-enter at halftime. And if they do, would it be the end of the world to drop the prices of tix a bit to fill the place with people willing to stay in the stadium?

Figure out a way to make the concessions flow the best they can. Ban re-entry. Have the debate on alcohol sales.

Not exactly sure.
My son left right at the halftime break to get some food, at the concession stand. He came back shortly after kickoff and said he only made it halfway through the line.

That is one negative about having volunteer groups do concessions. The are unfamiliar with it and honestly don't care as much about getting people through.

I don't know why anyone would be against leaving the stadium. It don't effect you. It allows people to go eat or drink something really quick. Everyone else is simply waiting in line and the concession don't support that many people trying to get food and drink. So why would you be against people leaving and coming back in?
Because whether you are in the stadium or watching on TV, the atmosphere is crap, and it looks really bush league to see a bunch of empty seats at the 3rd quarter kickoff.

Crowd atmosphere matters to recruits. Maybe it won't make a difference, but I'm all for making the program look its best on TV. No matter the product on the field, the Baylor tarp of shame games always looked pathetic. Stadium atmosphere also does have an impact on the TV presentation.

I think it is your sister's genetics rather than her occupation. And she presumably selected her husband, so again, not his occupation.
Naw, people always like/liked to hang with me, so it can't be genetics. Not saying it's the occupation, just more of the solemn style people seem to go that direction.

You know what recruits like better? Us winning and not playing boring football. Us not constantly getting beat by our rival.

On the topic of empty seats, what are thoughts about all the empty seats in the south end zone due to folks being inside the Sukup? I've seen comments about it online (from fans of other college teams) -- wondering where our fans are.

But, again, if you think that this is because of the reentry policy, you're very much mistaken.

Thousands of empty seats like you see aren't people leaving and reentering. Most people don't tailgate close enough for it to even be an option they'd want.

Want to deal with the empty seats? Address concessions\restrooms. We basically have a concourse setup that 'worked' when we had 40-45k people\game, and now we have around 60k regularly. Combine that with running things with volunteers like we're some high school program and not a 100 million dollar business and things get bad.

Similarly, while opening up beer sales is another discussion (and seemingly one that will have no movement as long as JP is here), thinking that 'solves' this issue is actually backwards. When concessions are a big part of why no one is in their seats, adding beer to the mix (and more people to the lines) probably exacerbates the problem.

I think they should take the bottom 7-8 rows and stick the band in there. There seem to always be at least 1/4 the seats open. Carve out the bottom rows and get the band by the students. Then you have the old band bleachers for recruits, or whatever you need. I thought long term they were going to drop the Jake and build something else there anyhow.

With a 20 minute halftime does anyone who actually physically leaves to go to their tailgate able to make it back in their seat by kickoff? I don't know, I've never left. To me it would take me 8 minutes (estimate) to get to my tailgate. 5 minutes to drink 1 beer, during that beer I would talk about the 1st half with my group, which would lead to 1 more quick beer, realize the game starts back up in 2 minutes, head to the bathroom, wait for my wife who is still in line for the bathroom, then 8 minute walk back. I've never left because 20 minutes just isnt long enough for that all to happen. I've always wondered if those leaving have intentions of getting back in time or if they walk out knowing they full well will miss the first 10 minutes.
