I've said this in another place but...

I was on the committee when we brought alcohol sales to UNI. Iowa State and Montana were the only two schools legal counsel could find that allowed re-entry at all whether there were alcohol sales or not. Montana has since ended it. It's a dinosaur that I'm shocked Iowa State still allows. Not to go off on a tangent but there are so many other security concerns with allowing it.
I generally agree with your premise, but Nebraska allows re-entry.

But, again, if you think that this is because of the reentry policy, you're very much mistaken.

Thousands of empty seats like you see aren't people leaving and reentering. Most people don't tailgate close enough for it to even be an option they'd want.

Want to deal with the empty seats? Address concessions\restrooms. We basically have a concourse setup that 'worked' when we had 40-45k people\game, and now we have around 60k regularly. Combine that with running things with volunteers like we're some high school program and not a 100 million dollar business and things get bad.

Similarly, while opening up beer sales is another discussion (and seemingly one that will have no movement as long as JP is here), thinking that 'solves' this issue is actually backwards. When concessions are a big part of why no one is in their seats, adding beer to the mix (and more people to the lines) probably exacerbates the problem.
There are three contributing factors. Slow ass concessions is clearly one as I said earlier. There are the people hanging out in the club/SEZ. And there are some late coming back from leaving. Not much to be done and out the club and SEZ people not in their seats. Have to address the concessions. That’s priority one. I’m not hardcore against re-entry, especially if they aren’t going to address the concession speed. It’s horrible and like nothing I’ve experienced at any other venue.

I vote Yes,

I admit I’ve been to games elsewhere and had multiple tickets just in case I want to go out and come back in. Why?

If we are down by 2 scores, coming back is optional, your doing it to support the team not because you think we might win.

LMAO that you disagree with this @alarson, that isn't even up for debate. I'll grab a pic if I'm able to get to the OSU or TCU games. I have a birds eye view from the west lower bowl and it's clockwork how empty those club sections are.
In the JTC, I would say 90% of the empty seats are people standing inside eating/drinking watching the game. Very few leave the JTC. Similar to the SEZC, 90%+ of those empty seats are inside watching the game.

Or waiting in the concession or bar or bathroom lines, the latter for men especially.

Could be. I haven't waited in a single line for a drink this year in the JTC. With the Tap pay system, it sure has been smooth.

There aren't 6 sections of people inside...

I agree. Maybe I was not clear. If people aren't in their seats, they are inside watching the game thru the windows. They aren't leaving the club as someone on this thread suggested. If the club seat people aren't in their seats at the start of the 3rd quarter, they have not left the stadium.

Different issue for the masses....

This is simply not true. The east club section is absolutely empty when the third qtr starts.
Not what I see.

I noticed they reconfigured at least one concession stand to allow people to go through a line and pick there items and pay at the end. That should help. Why did it take 50 years to try?
Lack of expertise by AD employees?

People that sit in the South Endzone club level have figured out it's just easier to sit up there and watch the game then going back and forth to your seat. It may be a horrible look on TV, but what can they really say or do to get you to move back to your seat?
We don't leave the stadium at halftime, but I have no problem with those that do, last weekend people down from us were standing in the concussion for most of the 3rd quarter to get a couple of soda's. We really need to put in a few places to just get soda or water away from the large concussion stands like they used to have.

Again, 6 sections of fans aren't sitting inside watching the game. I know several families that sit in those sections and they all go out for a beer at half time. I don't get why our fan base is so sensitive about this subject.

Sorry, I am confused what "6 sections" means. 95% of people don't leave the jtc to go to their cars.

I'm talking about these 6 high donor sections on the east side of the stadium that are consistently empty to start the second half. I'm sure the west side looks the same...

I gotcha - the outdoor sections. Yes, the west side looks the same. Why does it look this way? Because they have the closest parking spots to exit to at halftime..

If we do not allow them to leave the stadium during halftime to go to their reserved parking spots next to the stadium, then they would be more likely to be in their seats at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Those parking in non-reserved lots a mile away are not leaving at halftime and then returning.

I've been a season ticket holder for the past dozen years or so. Add in the number of years (more than suggested) that I was in school for my Bachelors, and surprisingly this last game was the first time I left at half time to grab a beer outside the stadium. It was kind of a pain in the ***. Buddy knew someone with a spot right outside the North Entrance. But we had to pull out our phones, open Google Wallet, Scan our ticket to get out and deal with waiting for that to work for everyone, and the people trying to scan 5 tickets so they and their friends can all head out and then be able to get back in.
Slammed 2 cold ones, and was giving my buddy the let's head back in glare when I heard the 2nd half kickoff from the parking lot. He got the message and we headed back in. I can see both the attraction to heading out real quick if you are super close to the stadium, but it was also a headache scanning out and back in. And definitely no re-security type check on the way back in.
At the end of the day I still voted Yes, I paid for the ticket for the whole game, if I leave the stadium during the game, I should still have the option to get back in later.

Whenever I attend a game, no matter the place, I rarely go out to the concourse at halftime to get something to eat or to use the restroom. I always do that during one of the 6-minute commercial breaks that happens every time there is a punt or a player “cramps” up to kill momentum on a drive. My favorite is when you know a play is going to be reviewed. They can’t get through one of them in less than 10 minutes.
