I agree with this, plus richardson could have had a completely different career if wernt for the god awful coaching. Remember Mangino

And if CPR didn’t have a history of destroying quarterbacks. And if CPR and staff didn’t literally run him into the ground. And I think he may still be one of the most statistically accurate passers in ISU history despite it.

I’d have to go back to double check, but I’m pretty sure this OSU team has already won more games than that Kansas team did all year.

I'm talking more for future prospects of what Purdy has to work with vs. what Richardson did post-break out game.

KU was probably a worse overall team, but OSU has put their defense on the backburner for a few years now.

Next week will be a really good measuring stick in general.

That KU team gave up 35/gm.
Ok St isn’t good, but they are better than KU.

Purdy has all the tools. Future teams will be better prepared, but hopefully the staff will have some counters ready. And Richardson would have been a very good QB at many programs.

I don’t understand your argument. Are you saying Kansas’s defense was stellar when Richardson played them?
I hate to speak for anyone, however I think what Chuckd was alluding to was the comment about this Oklahoma State team has already won more games than the Kansas team did that year. Pointing to the fact that Oklahoma State has a decent offense, that's why they've won more games than Kansas did that year. I'm pretty sure we could all agree Kansas' defense that year was..., was it even existent.

There is no way that you redshirt Brock Purdy. He is ready to play today.

Has anyone started the Zeb Noland transfer watch thread yet?
Toward the end of the game, I started thinking, "I wonder what Zeb and Re-al are thinking about the impact Purdy's performance would have on future playing opportunities". That's one position where guys don't often get back-up playing time except in case of injuries or mop-up duty.

Look at ISU's history with QB's, the back up and the back up's back up will play.

Purdy was very good today and I think you have to ride that train as long as it is rolling down the tracks like that. He had some really great plays. He also had some where the wrs made great plays. Called his own number a few too many times in the second half. Kid was not afraid to throw the ball down field, which when successful really opens up the running game. The OSU defense is not great, but the Clones needed every point they got to win, so there was certainly plenty of pressure on Purdy to keep scoring.

Obviously after today’s game he’ll start the next two. If we lose against WVA or TT do you redshirt him and limp thru the rest of the season with KK and Zeb to save his 4 years????
Let the discussion begin!

No. The fact that this is a thread confuses me.

Caveat: If he stinks in his next outing you adjust accordingly.
