It would be great if the trophy could say "America Needs Farmers". Unfortunately, the University of Iowa owns that phrase too.
WRONG. I think it is a HORRIBLE trophy. But it is hilarious. And it is perfect for this pseudo rivalry with the name FARMAGGEDON which was merely mocking Armageddon for KU vs Mu. Honestly, it’s perfect. But I don’t take forced trophies very seriously. If you try to have a serious trophy it is going to be something stupid like the Heroes trophy Nebraska and Iowa play for. Let’s go for humor and acknowledge it is stupid.
I'm good with the grain bin. I'm not good with the corporate logo.
A grain bin is hilarious and, come on, it's the the skyline of both states.
To be fair windmills are the skyline
Lets face it. Ag trophies in their own right are hard to make "cool" outside of the Ag world.
A JD "D" would be cool. On steel would look cool but if it was on rubber, it could be driven into the stadiul, in parades, etc.An old JD or IH narrow front end tractor painted purple and silver on one half cardinal and gold on the half. Plaque on the front with the yr and the score then a plate on the back if we need more room. Screw the corporate sponsership. There are enough tractor collectors in both these fan bases, that the they can get it donated and painted for free more than likely. IMO it's even better if it runs so you can park it in the endzone area load it on the trailer and take it to the winning schools campus for the yr.
Tractors from 1917 are incredibly rare and difficult to keep in running order. John Deere didn't buy Waterloo Boy until 1918.We need a tractor from the year we first played - either be completely unique or go home.

I think we should absolutely have a trophy. It's a rivalry, and the longest continuously played matchup in college football. That should be celebrated more than it is.There's two small colleges that play for a cool milk-jug. Why can't we have nice things?
