Realistically, what does Iowa have better than ISU other than being more recognized nationally?

I would be all over that Iowa spread. Expect that line to drop and maybe go the other way.

I also think isu would cover the tcu spread. That's too much at home.

If only CF had a way for you to put your credits where your mouth is.

Tcu beat us by what like 52 last year without trying the entire 2nd half.

Our team had definitely quit. We went toe to toe with a lot of their roster the year before with a 3-9 team.

I think you're giving us too much of a home field advantage.

I'm hoping the SEZ will help make the place louder and give ISU more of a home field advantage.

Both scary. I'd feel more comfortable with TCU covering. Iowa/ISU is usually a coin flip. I just don't know too much about either team right now.

How will our Juco additions perform when the lights come on, will we have an offensive line, running game, linebackers, can we get a rush on the opposing QB? And I just don't know anything about Iowa, well because I don't care enough to follow them. Except the Hawks typically can put together a decent line on both sides of the ball.

A few of us were talking last night about when was the last time we had a dominant rush end and the only one that came to my mind was Berryman. Without pressure we are in huge trouble, no matter how good our secondary is.

Only thing we have really heard about the ends is that they look good in practice. I think we can expect much more pressure with Tucker being a nuisance in the middle. I try to keep from drinking the cool aid too much, but if Tucker and Harris turn out to be men, then we may have ourselves a stingy defense.

We need more than a few brand new players to play like they are seasoned veterans right out of the gate... Not normally witnessed.

Remember Vegas is trying to get equal action on both sides.

FWIW, in the "post-streak" era, ISU has only been the betting-line favorite twice (Ferentz's first two years), but has managed marks of 13-4 ATS and 10-7 SU.

The only times ISU didn't cover were in 2003, Rhoads' first two seasons (2009-10), and 2013.

Did you forget the injury riddled team TCU had that year? They had essentially quit too. They were horrible that year. Of course that game or last years game has nothing to do with this season. ISU probably has 2-3 legit Big 12 starters on D, 3-4 legit Big 12 starters on O. 3 of those happen to be WR's mind you. I do not expect ISU to be competitive in many Big 12 games. I'd take TCU to cover and ISU to cover and probably win outright against Iowa.

TCU took a knee last year against us which was more embarrassing then running up the score. TCU will show no mercy this year knowing they need to hammer everyone to get into the playoff.

It'll help with the sound reflection at least. The SEZ middle section itself... well its probably an older section and its only about 2/3 sold right now so you can draw your own conclusions.

Iowa will cover this year and then some. I've been told this by every hawk fan I know. I can't blame them for having more confidence at this point.

I like MM's second year offense in this one. ISU 28 Iowa 17.
