Some things about ISU for Virginia lurkers to chew on.

We praise the Virginia people coming on here spinning their best story about their team and then when we have a fan who obviously is spinning our best story, everyone gets ******.

Iowa State fans always think the worst about their teams.

No you just always think the worst about the fan base, and prove it on most threads.

7 road (or neutral site) losses by a grand total of 26 points in one of the two best conferences in the land. Why are you having a problem with Cyclone fans acknowledging our opponent has a great team? To be the best, you have to beat the best...

We all love the Cyclones and nearly everybody believes we'll prevail in Chicago. I'm headed to the United Center on Friday - I wouldn't be going if I expected to lose...

P.S. MB is no Ralph Sampson and ISU is much better than the 1982 Chaminade Silverswords!!!

i didn't say I didn't think Virginia was good. Just saying that we are too. Virginia earned their 1 seed. We earned our 4.

If those "calf muscles" get in here, I'm confident they will feel like drake fans when they leave...

I figure is we didn't lose star guard Naz Long, the Mckay affair, and Monte's shoulder injury this team at best would have only lost 4 maybe five games most on the road all year.

My favorite is Baylor having a statistical anomaly BOTH games they played ISU. No common theme there?

I agree to a certain extent. I am biased but I seem to remember teams hitting 3s from way behind the arch with a hand in the face more than you would think is possible.... Its a shame that we don't have Naz... If we did we might have been a one seed. I really hope that we win this game. That would be a highlight for the ages!

Is Baylor shooting a could of percentage points higher than their season average "shooting out of their minds?" Seems a bit of a stretch. I agree UNI shot out of their minds, but shooting only slightly higher than your average is hardly shooting out of your mind.

All I want to know is, do Virginia fans remember "the dunk" that happened about 11 years ago?
Hint: Stinson-Blalock-Clark.

This calls for a GIF from Rulzzz!!!!!

Sorry, Cyclones43........posted this before I saw your post with the YouTube link. Good job!

I recall them beating us at home with a bevy of contested jumpers in the last few minutes that would not stop. I would call 94 points "shooting out of their mind" when they averaged 77 on the year (and only 73 for the games played after they beat us in Ames).

That's true although I think the CF meltdown blamed the fans in attendance for a break game.

Did Baylor really shoot better than 46% percent on 3 pointers this year? Googles it. Nope. Looks like about 37% to me. That makes more sense. Yes, they shot well against us but we lost to Baylor, both times, because of that Motley dude.

I did my best to sit on my hands and not cheer as an old fart in the student section. I'm glad CF took notice of my efforts.

Me too. Sat with my student. The irony is if the students had been there, they would have been blamed as well.

I blame myself for that loss. At that point in the season I hadn't yet found the correct combination of ISU clothing and beer to drink during the games. Now that I have, we are unstoppable.

Unfortunately, I will be in the car for most of Friday's game so I need to do a study of sodas to pick the correct one. I will be wearing the correct clothes and should be arrive at our destination for the end of the game. If we can just stay close until then, we should be golden (edit: Cardinal and Golden).

Quoting my post: 1/9 – Baylor: shot out of their minds in making 34-65 (52%). Baylor shot 46.5% on the year. We were in this until the end.

Notice I never stated that Baylor shot 46% on threes for the year. Reading comprehension, yeahhhhh.
