The stuff this company has done in such a short time is truly remarkable. How these advancements can be used, and how quick they can be used, will be interesting to keep an eye on.

That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I can't believe those boosters land back on Earth, let alone a drone ship out at sea.

I wonder if anyone involved with the first orbital rocket launch 60 years ago would have thought we would be landing the boosters like that today.

Crazy to they landed the boosters. Can't wait to find out of the main landed on the barge. I have a feeling it didn't otherwise they would have announced it on the feed.

No...but they dreamed of it.

My father was an aero-engineer at the cape during the Apollo missions, working with the crawler and the umbilical. I got to see several of them launch from my front yard as a kid. (Edit - they didn't launch from my front yard - we lived in Cocoa Beach, and we could see them on the horizon...long before we HEARD them).

I was sad when the moon missions ended; the shuttle and ISS programs were never quite as cool to me.

I had given up hope that we would go to Mars in my lifetime (a life-long dream)...but now I'm dreaming again. I cried watching that perfect launch.

It's weird, that's exactly what I was thinking during the launch. I know I've become jaded and cynical as I've gotten older, but it's sort of depressing that when I'm watching this marvel of technology unfold right in front of me, the first thing my brain goes to is, "HA! DEAL WITH THAT, YOU FLAT EARTH D-BAGS!!!"

As I was watching the Starman feed I was thinking of all the moon walk hoax conspiracy theorists and how they would be dissecting Starman video.

dang, I'm heading down to Florida next week...would've loved to have watched the launch.
Still have my copy of the QC Times (or Times Democrat, maybe?) with Man Walks On Moon headline.

I want to see that car's paint job and upholstery in 60 days. Without substantial UV stabilizers the sun will destroy every petroleum-based component (rubber/plastic) and fade the paint very quickly. In fact, if there's any tension on those seat belts at all the UV damage may chew through those and release the spaceman(nequin) before any other damage shows up.

I believe those people would have thought we would be well beyond what we are currently able to do. I mean this is cool but kinda disappointing they weren't doing this 20 years ago.
