Thinking about going to St. Louis this weekend for the 49ers game. Haven't been there since I was a kid. Is it a fun city? We would be staying downtown, I heard during the summer it is fun with the Cards and all but wasn't sure about this time of year.

Trying decide weather to go or not. We like to roam around and check out cool bars and restaurants. If you have any ideas or opinions let me know.

Thanks!

Washington street or the soulard area are pretty fun and usually busy.

I was there for the first time in August for a couple Cardinals / Pirates games. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza and walked everywhere. Washington Ave was fun. Other parts of downtown seemed a little sketchy at times. The number one rule that I have always heard is to avoid East St. Louis, but we never went over there so I really don't know how bad it is.

I'd suggest walking around the east side at night with a big dollar sign on your shirt. I've heard it's a lot of fun.

St Louis can be a lot of fun. You absolutely cannot leave your car parked anywhere without hiding your valuables in your trunk etc. Make sure you avoid North and East of St Louis. The metro area can be a hit or miss. Stay right around Washington Ave, Central West End and Soulard district for night life. Also, if you want adult entertainment, East St Louis is the place to be. However, do not become a target.

Message me if you want to. St Louis is a much better place to live and enjoy in my opinion. You just have to do somewhat of a research to get an idea.

Not far from Zoo and Science Station (across I-64 and I-44) isan Italian neighborhood known as "The Hill”. It's loaded with small ma& pa Italian restaurants. I've eaten at two different ones and they wereboth excellent. Sorry, I can't remember their names.
