My only complaint about the sound is that the intro song (for the video before it gets to Power) just sounds like music coming out of bad speakers. I don't know if it's because of the volume or what, but it sounds awful - at least from where I sit.

I wonder too if maybe we need a big speaker upgrade? Upgrade the speakers, and you can likely turn it down a tad and it will still sound awesome.

We sat in the lower bowl, about the N 20 yard line, press box side halfway up. It was same experience as OP for me. My kids and I couldn't hear each other to converse pre-game, so we just sat there. People behind me with lots of "huh's?" and "what was that?"

It's not just loud, it's low-quality. The term "drowned itself out" was applicable. It's like the bass is more rattling than actual bass.

Not as bad during the game, just the before stuff.

It was annoyingly loud last night and needs changed. The sound quality seems to get worse as it gets louder. It just sounds like high-pitched blaring crap vs good-sounding music.

I’ll add that it’s frankly loud enough that it makes me not want to go back to watch in person. I like talking to the people around me and we just gave up after a while because we were tired of yelling at each other. So what’s the fun in going to the game if you just sit there in silence and stare at the field in warm ups or between plays/possessions.

Knew there had to be some sort of complaint thread when there was nothing to complain about last night. I guess this is it

C'mon....This comment just isn't fair. I tried the best I could to explain in my initial post that it shouldn't be construed as a negative complaint but more of inferring if there are others out there that hear it differently AND can a slight 'improvement' be made to make things more enjoyable at what is already a great stadium and fan atmosphere.

If I was the leader of a church and everything about a funeral or a wedding was top notch but the microphone system took away from how great it was, I would want people who attended to alert us to the fact so we could make things better.

Geez, this isn't anything even close to complaining about the football team, fans leaving, uniform colors, the punter, who was the guest picker, schedule, who sells their tickets to a rival, prices, etc.

I guess I’m not sure about the too loud comments. We always seem to get those but our seats it is tuned pretty well. Music tends to be a bit quiet but announcer volume is good. The band announcer is really loud though. Meanwhile the band itself is really quiet through the speakers.

i sit in the upper deck at the 45 (section V). The sound system is INCREDIBLY loud. Everyone around me comments about it. i even see children putting fingers in their ears. I’ve worked in sound for a long time and this is ridiculous.
Agreed 50 yard line, section E and it is loud. I thought it was the worst for the UNI game, but maybe I've gotten more used to it. Probably overdid people complaining it was too quiet in the past, although I can't remember thinking that.

For people talking about sound distribution, there is no way to do that in a stadium. You can only have speakers in one location. If you tried to put speakers in multiple locations you would have phasing issues and it would sound terrible.

I sit in row 2 of the upper deck (section V) and don't have any complaints about volume, haven't noticed it being too quite or too loud. I think it's mainly an issue being too loud for those at the same level as the speaker which I think is roughly middle of the upper deck (inside the areas on either side of the north video board) and perhaps some other places where you get reflections off other surfaces.

Row 3 of section D and yeah it was next to impossible to talk to anyone. It seems as though it is at one level through pre game until they do the starters intro and then that gets knocked up a few notches and knocks you over.
