"In that same vein, La’Michael Pettway is a physical specimen. He does not have quite the same length as Butler, but my goodness that is a huge human being. He’s exactly the kind of guy the program needed to help fill a void while some of the younger receivers come into their own."

SIx to midnight.

Anthony Booker was a built as MBB player as I'd ever seen. Had to have less than 3% body fat. I'm not saying Pettway is the same, but physical specimen's can be misleading.

Well Pettway hauled in 30 passes, had 500 receiving yards on 16.6 yds per catch. If you watched his film, he's a very physical WR and did all of those things in the SEC. He was also highly recruited out of high school and was choosing between us and Auburn when determining his grad-transfer status. Little bit different than Anthony Booker.

I'm envisioning Pettway as a similar build and physicality to D'Vario Montgomery. DM was probably a bit overweight, so hopefully Pettway is a tad leaner and quicker.

A couple of interesting observations from Randy Peterson in the DM Rag today:

Larry Kehres, Campbell's coach at Mount Union, was impressed with John Kolar's throws. Tight spiral. On target. Quick enough release. “He throws a nice ball,” the man said.

Kene Nwangwu had the first rush — around end, by the way.

It is only the first session of the first day of Fall Camp, but ...

That thought struck me. But it occurred to me to wonder if a better comparison wasn’t the kid from Ole Miss, who blew up the NFL Combine this year—except for the agility drills. Which apparently cost him.

Din’t he measure around 6’2” 228, with a ridiculously low body fat? Not too far from La’Michael. Guess we’ll see what the on-field similarities are.

Thanks, Jared!

Umm...and the second session?

Do we need to send out a search party for Jared?

I've been looking forward to his reports from the afternoon practice, but so far....... nothing!

C'mon Jared, give us something! We're desperate here.
