Yep, his offense worked in large part because of it. Opposite of LE and TF, but again there are many ways to win. Tactically we can win differently IMO, but anyone that is not as good strategically in putting the team/program together and roster management will see the instability we went through before Fred (including under Orr, TF, and LE).
Of course even Fred was setting himself up for some down years and weakened this upcoming year due to his handling of NBA interest. Now Prohm gets to clean up that mess.
Easy there, the only two recruits that suffered were Darin Williams and the possibility of getting Diallo. Even if CFH would have gotten those commitments by saying he'd stay and then leaving for Chi-town at this point both would have left at this stage of the game most likely and ISU roster would be the same (assuming everyone stays).
I am guessing most coaches would take this type of situation to take over, Top 10 roster with battle tested vets to show his style and sell recruits right away, as opposed to most mid major situations were the coach has to totally rebuild year one.
Florida, a non blue blood with recent success, had Donovan leave in a similar fashion to CFH. They hired a respected Mid-Major coach, resulting in recruiting decommits player leave for the draft and look to be starting from scratch.
I would like to think Prohm prefers his ISU situation to start his tenure to that one.
