Sweet 16 Riot of 2000

Have already heard many students' plans for Friday: FAC on Welch straight through to the game. If something is going to happen, it would probably be this weekend.

That's what I'm planning. Gonna be great.

Yup.

The Spring 07 VEISHEA with the concerts on central campus was awesome. Great weather that year too.

After that they started the whole wrist band crap and moved it to the field where the Bio-Renewables building now stands. Eve 6 headlined, they moved it up a week into the last part of march, it snowed, VEISHEA sucked.

My friends and I subsequently spent VEISHEA weekend in Helser trying to break a coffee table by doing WWF style leg drops and elbow drops from a makeshift turn buckle made out of spare mattresses. Keystone was involved.

My fav. Veishea concerts were Local H and Story of the Year. Both rocked.....though I admit I saw them after a few hours at the bar.

I don't know if it started at Towers, but that's where I jumped in. A pseudo riot (against dry veisha) and elite 8 celebration at the same time. Said "hi" to Jischke at his mansion and then visited Jack Trice. The goalposts are indestructible fyi.

This exact same thing happened in 1999 as well (with the exception of the Elite 8 thing).

I seriously got some kind of rash... But then again it might of been from random hook up. Never had that pinned down.

There were two. One after win vs. UCLA and loss after MSU. First one got little out of control. I remember walking down the Lincoln way with the riot and some dude was throwing big rock at the bank window.

I am sure students will riot if we win.

I remember going to grad. school at Central Michigan when we beat UCLA and getting laid that night. That was pretty cool.

I'm not sure I've ever written anything in X Code, but an ISU Riot app might be the bump I need to learn more and get a dev account!

I was at Iowa State for the very first Veishea riot and I thought rioting was stupid then just like I think it is stupid now. If there is a riot I hope a whole bunch of people who destroy stuff get thrown in the slammer and end up having to pay for all of it. It is stupid and no one should think it is okay just because we are in college.

Yes, I am old, but you shouldn't have to be old to have a little common sense.
