What are your thoughts on package wrapping short shorts?

Due to playing high school basketball in the late 70s I have a nostalgic soft spot for nut huggers.

In fact, when my parents moved out of their house a few years ago I found out my mom had kept my high school uniform. Pretty sure the boxer briefs I wear today would extend 2-3 inches below those basketball shorts.

It was written on the back of a Dixie cup. It’s actually about killing a kid in a car accident and fleeing the scene. VH1 story tellers.

Now that you know the full story do you feel differently?
No, it’s not, and the song still sucks. Pure garbage that needs not be played ever again.

Sweet Carolines is not unique to Iowa State. It's Unique to the Boston Red Sox who have played it for years and years. I don't hate the song. I just think it's not good for us. It makes no sense.

Chicago White Sox stole Journey from the Giants during their WS run and the white Sox fans seemed to think it was the greatest thing in the universe. FWIW a White Sox fan is a genetic clone of a Cyclone fan.

Nope, it’s definitely about hitting something with your car while drinking at night, get out to see you’ve hit a kid, and sure enough he’s dead.

Lots of schools play sweet Caroline. Some of you act like it is only the Red Sox.

So, to summarize the outrage of the day, something something songs or something. And the students are now too loud and profane (rather than being ripped for not showing up enough). Anything about the LED lighting we need to ***** about? Did people have trouble exiting the parking lot?

Totally serious suggestion, totally serious meaning of song, not an SNL skit this time…

We should switch to a Neil Diamond song “Cracklin’ Rosie” that is ACTUALLY about Iowa State student life experience pretty much exactly.

- The song is about a town where women outnumber men two to one.
- Everybody goes out drinking and has a great time.
- Everybody who can find a lady goes home with her, the other men go home with a cheap bottle of liquor, the “store bought woman” in the lyrics.
- The guys who go home with the bottle are still happy social fun people having a great time, not some messed up incels
- It’s an objectively better song than Sweet Caroline
- It would truly be an ISU original
- Fans could sing along to the “Play it now” part…I mean we’re playing a game…and the “Ba ba ba ba ba” part
- Younger people will transition more easily staying with Neil, they have a warm familiarity although probably unaware he ever had other songs

You’re welcome. Let’s make it happen.

Didn't Neil Diamond also say it was about a Kennedy? Is Neil Diamond behind all of the mysterious and suspicious Kennedy tragedies?

Get rid of it for basketball entirely. Not a good call to play it today at the end of an incredibly energetic game. Juicy Wiggle at the end of today’s game would have been so much better.

It’s fine at the end of football wins but I really think the University needs to move forward with Juicy Wiggle as the go-to from here on out.

I don't mind it at the end of a win. People sing it on the way out, I heard people still singing in the tunnel south of Hilton last night. Just don't play it during a game.

You know it's a good season when we're complaining about music.

Juicy Wiggle is an objectively dumb but catchy song. But I now have such a strong association with it playing during Cyclone games that I love it. The crowd also goes nuts so why would we get rid of that?
