This weekend I was hanging out with family and I used the phrase, "So I said to myself...'Self, and I knew it was me because I recognized my voice.'" My nephew thought that was pretty funny and asked me where I had heard it from. For the life of me I can't remember. It bugged me all day. I thought maybe it was Bill Murray (Caddyshack), but he doesn't say it in the Dali Lama(?) speech. I've tried to Google it with no luck. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

if it helps, my chemistry teacher in high school always said that. :spinny:

Yeah, well its not usually something that I say, but it fit the situation. It seems like everyone that I asked knew someone that said it (like your teacher), but no one knows where it came from.

If my brain remembers correctly...Bill Cosby did an HBO Special back in the early-mid 80's and that line was in it. He was talking about something he had done to p'o his wife and needed to get back in her good graces...hilarious stuff!

I'm thinking "Bill Cosby....Himself."

If I'm wrong, it's still an amazing special. I think it's worth tracking down and watching.
