If he lost 3 QBs during the game he might have not expected that he was going to have to play any of the remaining QBs. Even if he did, I'm sure they were already contractually required to play the game. This payday probably funds half of their athletic department.

Does this affect betting? They hit the spread on the dot but came up a touchdown short on the over/under. One could make a convincing argument that shortening the game unfairly takes one's opportunity to win.

The article made it sound like it was linemen, because he was talking about the equivalent of a DIII walk on trying to protect the skill players.
