Maybe the Longhorns will go into AFH with a since of desperation and beat KU? Probably won't happen but a win there would solidify them as a tournament team. Granted ISU needs to take care of business Saturday as well!

Go Cyclones!

I think Joe Lunardi has them currently as one of his Last Four in, playing in the play-in game.

I saw Lunardi's Last Four In, and thought Purdue deserves it, but not Texas. They need a few good things to happen.

Maybe it's the heightened expectations coming in to this season, but they haven't impressed.

Squawks will come out with their hair on fire after getting embarrassed Monday night. Self will be spitting fire balls. Their home crowd will be ampted higher than the sound system in search of retribution for losing to the lowly Wildcats. Don't see UT being in this one. Far more likely that Ku loses at Norman than Lawrence. In fact, I'd guess the Sooners will be favored.

Show's you how tough the tourney is going to be. Teams like Texas could be the play-in game.

As long as they don't get rid of Barnes I am okay with Texas. I don't see them winning at KU but of course I am hoping for that miracle.

Problem is Texas isn't very good.
But the potential is. If they just slip into the tourney they will have nothing to lose and if they loosen up and start making shots they could knock off just about anybody not named Kentucky and they actually played UK very tough without their point.

KU is pretty weak inside (relative to most KU teams). Texas has some talent in the paint. That's about where my optimism ends. Certainly will be cheering for them to pull it off.

A Texas win at AFH would be amazing, but a Texas win over Baylor might help some, too. Holding Baylor down helps ISU in the tiebreaker race with KU and/or OU for Big 12 tournament seeding.

Obviously I would take the win over KU 11 times out of 10, but Texas can still help us a little in other ways, too.

Longhorns are major underachievers. Does not appear the coach has their attention.

Kansas losing back to back Big12 games, with this one being at home, against a underperforming Texas team? Not a chance.

Purdue, UCLA and Davidson in over Texas? What is the reasoning?

Texas has the highest RPI/BPI. The toughest SOS. Their worst loss was either Stanford at home or at Baylor by 20+. Sure they only have a few wins against quality teams but they have no bad losses and play in the best conference in the country.

UCLA has a good SOS of 17 but a bad RPI (53). They are only 1-6 against the RPI top 25. They have losses to 15-13 Arizona State and 12-15 Colorado. They lost to Utah 71-39.

Davidson has a SOS of 141. They were 1-4 against the RPI top 50. They have losses to 12-15 St. Joes and 14-12 St. Bonaventure. Their best win is over Dayton.

Purdue has a horrible RPI. (58). They have home losses to North Florida and Gardner-Webb. Their SOS sits at 90. Their best wins are over Indiana and Ohio State.
