Interesting that they have plans to replace the Frank Erwin Center and to downsize to 10,000. Their attendance has been terrible for years though.

Another article I had read made it sound like the lease agreement with the Oak View Group gives them a ton of the on-site revenue for many years before transitioning some to Texas (concessions, etc). Obviously they have to make money on the deal to justify helping Texas on the project.

I know you can fill the floor for concerts and exceed the basketball capacity for concerts in the round but 10,000 to 15,000 is quite a jump. Even Hilton with over 14,000 basketball seats can't fit many more than that for a concert in the round. I wonder if they are going with something like the Jerry World model where there are big open areas that can accommodate some sort of portable seating risers.

And as always LOL at these programs that can't fill there arenas so they try to make a big deal and spin waving the attendance white flag.

Ole Miss's new $100 million arena has 10k seats. Nova put $65 million into their renovation and came away with 6500 seats. Bramlage would be full every night at 10k. I wish it was right-sized because it's seldom full in the current configuration. I would not be surprised to see it downsized when renovated.

It's too large for Manhattan/K-State demographics. That's why I wrote 10k would have been right-sized.
