Idk what the F ESPN's problem is with the attendance. Did they really expect two college teams to sellout Arrowhead?!? It was around 40K and about 20K per team. I thought that was pretty damn good for ISU's part! I'd say for most it's a 3-4 hour drive and only about 1 hour for K State. Did they honestly expect Iowa State to fit jack trice 50K all in there for the game? Was it the biggest crowd ever recorded? No. Was it pathetic and embarrassing like ESPN thinks? No. Good lord in this economy Cyclone fans did damn good IMO.

20k is good attendance for ISU? Is this what we expected when giving up a home game? I say FAIL. Look at all the revenue we lost and Ames lost in this deal. Our athletic department must be really struggling. Heck, we didn't even pick up a TV slot (no, the fox midwest or whatever it was doesn't count, as it has minimal viewership)

I agree...it was a spectacular grab by our receiver. Unfortunately, it made the letdown of the blocked PAT even more intense.

I thought it was great we made ESPN for that!

The crowd was pretty much awesome. I haven't seen that many ISU fans at a game away from JTS in a long time. It rivaled any bowl game I've been to, minus the Insight Bowl. It was also maybe not quite as good as FSU a couple years ago. But great to see that many ISU fans make the trip!

BTW, I prefer to look at us as a wrestling school the last 4 years.

Do some searching and find a post where I've complained that we don't get any air time. Don't bother, you won't find it. The dumb thing here is they would have never even bothered showing the highlights except for the meltdown at the end.

I'd wager the game would not have gotten any highlights had we made the extra point and won in overtime.

The amazing catch just helped set the storyline here.
