Moral of the story: Stop recruiting prima donnas. Put boys out there who WANT to play for State instead of those who think State should play for them.

It means one of two things:

1.) Recruits don't want to come here because of lack of success.
2.) CPR is being rumored to not be here much longer.

I really question if Pollard would fire CPR after this season because of the financial commitment. Maybe CPR would go the McCarney route and be talked into resigning. We shall see.

Yes, because there are a wealth of talented individuals just salivating for the chance to play for Iowa State. We have a word for people who aren't prima donnas and want to play for Iowa State instead of thinking Iowa State should play for them-- they are called walk-ons.

If you think things are bad now, follow this theory and see what happens. Yikes.

We're going to have to pay people to come play here. Who's got some $$$ for the next Cam Newton?

That Rhoads still seems to be recruiting prima donnas for near must have you really concerned about his ability as head coach

The financial commitment is chump change compared to the damage which can be done by holding on too long.

There's no way in hell Rhoads is "resigning." He's got about $5M reasons not to resign.

Like always, no one knows what Jamie is thinking but I'm sure he understands the financial ramifications.

What scares me is if Paul Rhoads can't win at ISU, who can? Surely anyone else who has any ounce of success will leave as soon as they can for a better job.

Weird to think after the 2011 season, people here were worried Rhoads would get plucked to a larger program. Things change with the wind in college football.

Maybe that's not a bad thing. Maybe we need a string of 2-3 short term coaching regimes-- coaches who come change things and move on. And then the foundation would have been laid for longer term success.

Right now I'll be glad to have a coach who takes us to 2-3 average bowl games and moves on. I don't see Rhoads has enough left in him to do that any more....

Yeah, blame the recruits! They're crazy if they don't want to play for us!

we have one of two things happen. we start recruiting FCS-type players and they go to ISU because it's their only FBS offer. so then people get mad we are recruiting FCS players. -or- we only recruit FBS-caliber players who want to come here and we are left with 10 players.
