So I am planning on going to Graduate school next fall and take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) on Thursday? Any tips? I have one of those "Cracking the GRE" books, but will take all the help I can get. I am just not sure how much more my brain can take...

I took the GRE about a year and a half ago. My best advice is to do as many practice tests as you can. That helps you get the timing of the tests down, and will help you know what kinds of questions to expect. Your study book should have some of those, and so does the GRE website.

Good luck.

This. Also, get plenty of sleep the night before. Given the choice between one more practice test and going to bed the night before - go to bed.

Southern Miss baby, you can sit on the bench with the great Larry E! No FSU...they are dirty. Unless of course you plan on being a dirty coach, which I know you will be.(not a gay wink)

Didn't study for them, but I probably should have.

Since you're in business management, our backgrounds are a little different.

If I were to take it again (which I won't since I'm 30 and finally done with school) I would probably study the vocabulary words...my weakest area. So I would suggest glancing over the stuff you're good at and binge and purge the stuff you suck at.

This is probably pretty good advice. I took it when I was 35, and really had to brush up on the math, not so much vocabulary. It just depends on where your weaknesses are.

Ha GRE's are sucking the life out of you? Wait till you actually get to grad school, it gets worse before it gets better. I strongly agree with the people that have told you to take tons of practices tests and sleep well the night before. My two other pieces of advice are do not do not get nervous, just relax, nothing but bad can come from getting stressed so don't. And to go along with that advice, if you can swing it (depends on how prepped you are right now) take the day before the test off. Play nintendo, frisbee golf, anything but the GRE (just nothing that gets you hung over). Good luck, you will do great.

do as many math problems as possible. learn the verbal strategies but dont waste your time studying vocab. take a timed practice test at least once. get a good nights sleep.

you'll do fine. good luck bud!

Do just the opposite of what he said. I aced the math portion without studying, but that's because of my background. I bombed out on the vocab and it probably cost me a couple scholarships. Do whatever suits you best.

I took it last month and I didn't study. The first time I even looked at the stuff was when I was taking the test. I got 800, but didn't send in the scores and still got accepted to ISU. I have some powerful professors on my side though.

I would suggest studying, but don't freak. The GRE is just one tool used by schools, your GPA and resume can be enough. If you do bad, don't send in the scores and take it again.

GRE is overhyped..... not studying isnt a bad thing if you are fresh out of college.
