If either were drafting, Purdy would not have slid down to Mr. Irrelevant.
This is an interesting article. And since it focuses on Deshaun Watson, it will be very interesting to see if he can jump start his career at Cleveland!

One point in the article,

Trait No. 7: The Charm Factor

Do his teammates love him? What do his teammates say about him, off the record?

What are the Browns players saying about him, and the fans? They've had to wait a whole year to maybe find out if it was worth it, or not.

How true. Teams just don't seem to be able to wait anymore. These 1st and 2nd round QB picks, the money they pay them (even with their rookie contract), coupled with the apparent lack of competent starting QBs, the pressure is high to play them right away. And a high draft pick QB's contract isn't so high as it might be later, so there is a 'salary window' with the salary cap, allowing them to pay other players a little bit more (free agents, etc.).
Fan pressure ($ support), organizational pressure, coupled with the instant gratification is probably a huge driver. Nature of the game as well as I'm sure most young QBs also don't want to sit around waiting for their day to arrive later on. But, I'm sure the speed of the game is unreal compared to college so sitting behind someone like Rodgers helped Love understand the complexities of the game in which put zero pressure on Love. A new kid coming fresh out of college into a grown man's sport and placing a franchise on their shoulders that early on is a tall task and a big ask. No wonder so many flame out.

Did Bo Callahan's teammates show up to his birthday or not? Because Bo really doesn't remember.

While we are on this, can anyone name several NFL QB's who were drafted high, after a limited college career, and didn't live up to the hype? And of those, did any pan out?

I'm drawing a blank. Was one a Browns draftee, before Johnny Manziel?
Mitchel Trubisky...

I just think it's amazing how this team continues to find ways to win even though they are not pretty. I can only imagine what will happen if they somehow keep winning and get Rogers back this team could go a long ways. It's extra special to me you have Cyclones being the key guys on this team. Not only what Breece did with that big touchdown but also McDonald' affecting the field goal and then AL with a couple of HUGE catches in the clutch.

Allen had a key catch right before the Jets tied the game.

The Jets have a lot of great pieces, but are missing the two most important ones, a decent QB and an average Oline.
Until they solve both of those, they are never going to be the class of the division.

They need to find a tackle in a trade. If they can get some injured guys back they'll be ok. I know AVT is gone for the year but the other injures are not season ending I hope.

Breece's vision, patience, and burst are incredible. They still aren't utilizing him enough.
That tight end gets some credit for blocking the guy hard enough to spin him around, but the way Breece finds the right seam at speed was crazy. He also doesn't look like he's moving as fast as he is. Long smooth strides or something mask the outright speed.

So many defenders just take the completely wrong angle on him and don't stand a chance. If he gets loose, everyone should be heading for the pylon to cut him off, as that is about their only chance.

Surprised this hasn't been bumped after today...

On the McDonald play... I'm not sure I've ever seen someone do that before--clear the long snapper (has to 100% clear him because any contact is a penalty) with zero running start.

There aren't any plays like it in this compilation, for instance. Every single leaping block is by someone coming from a few yards behind the LOS:

I hadn't seen that Will McDonald play. Pretty incredible!
The Jets Dline is stacked, and they have a lot of depth, Will is not getting a lot of playing time, but he does produce when he gets into the game. If he wanted more playing time, he might have been better off getting drafted by another team, and the Jets would have been better off drafting another offensive lineman.

Why draft to add more strength to the deepest and best part of the team?

Yes, good block and he was alert to do it because he knew Breece was coming his way!
