The Nadas in Austin for Cyclone-Longhorn pregame show Friday night

Just got confirmation today that The Nadas duo is making a BIG detour down to Austin as part of their "Rock the Rails" unplugged tour playing house concerts across the country this year. They will be playing that Friday night Nov. 9th around 8p in the cul-de-sac of a private residence while we also celebrate an Austin ISU Club member's birthday there.

I suppose The Nadas may not be as big of a deal for those coming down from Iowa that have more chances to see them, but for the rest of us down here this is a pretty cool treat. Almost like People's-Far South

Yes, there IS a cover to handle all their travel costs and such to get down here and back. But we're throwing in a keg or two with that to help celebrate Renee's b'day, so get in earlier Friday and come join us for a late FAC!

Now, as much as we tried, Jason and Mike cannot play at our big ISU-Texas Tailgate the next day since they have to ditch the Amtrak and grab a quick flight back to DSM for another show they had already booked a while ago. Anyone coming into Austin earlier Friday night to check this out? Renee (the b'day girl) is trying to make the $1000 min. that Jason and Mike say they need to cover their travel expenses, etc ... or she has to cover the rest - which doesn't make for a real happy birthday for her if only a few fellow Cyclones come to party with us
