Wow, Boren's statement is something. Makes it sound like they are back 100%. Maybe. Or something.

I don't like the 5 years thing. The supposed Northwestern poster Purple Book Cat, supposedly a mouthpiece for Delaney, said that both Tx and ND pitched a proposal that would have them in the B1G in 2015/2016...when the B1G renegotiates media package...
you beat me to it, seems that since the big 10 didn't flinch, it gave pause to the pac 12...

Texas has no incentive to agree to that.

I have said it before and I will say it again, if the other 8 members say to Texas you change or we are going to publically embarass you by voting you out of our conference, and mean it.

Less revenue without Texas, but more stability, we should take it so we do not do this every year. I am afraid Texas has an ego that will not allow them to act like they are an equal member in any group.

Not exactly sure.
5 years does not give stability. You can't get more teams to jump in with us for "five years". At least that gives us a chance to build up the programs and pull a TCU to get into a different conference if we need to. Better start the extra donating now.

Yeah..... Hey Boomer.... T Boone just told me you P****d him off. He's looking for you know at the game.

what was said?

We were not surprised by the Pac 12's decision to not expand at this time. Even though we had decided not to apply for membership this year, we have developed a positive relationship with the leadership of the conference and we have kept them informed of the progress we've been making to gain agreement from the Big 12 for changes which will make the conference more stable in the future. Stability has been our first goal and we look forward to achieving that goal through continued membership in the Big 12 Conference.

Where did this come from?

The BE needs one more team no matter what. Who do they get? I think they will grab either UCF or ECU, maybe both. I ask, because we might have a fight over teams left.

We first take BYU. I could see us sit for a year or two to get contracts/ tv network started and then go after a couple BEs or an AF and best of the remainders. The Pitt/Cuse thing really whacks us a little. If we go after their teams now, that might topple their conference and we look like the sec.

I do hope academics are considered some. I really don't want a thug school with the image of Miami running around our conference. We already have tech and k state, don't want more.
Miami actually has excellent academics aside from their football team.
