I still like the idea of BYU, just because it's something national and different.
I still like BYU, Louisville and whoever. Mostly Cincinnati, but whoever.
Good for you. No one really asked what you thought though. Could some of you have a bigger hard on for ISU being left out in the cold? It's pretty pathetic really. You can't beat us so you root for our conference to explode in order to give you the advantage you need.
LOL. Again, I haven't once said ISU would be left out in the cold. Go ahead and go back and check my posting history the last few months. Every post I've made states that I see ISU in an AQ conference - I simply don't believe the Big 12 is viable. That's all.
And seriously? "You can't beat us so you root for our conference to explode". If you are going to discuss this with me, at least bring rational arguments to the table. Iowa is 37-17 against ISU all time - including 6-2 in the last 8. I think you better reevaluate your position just a bit - no team can win them all, but I'll take a damn near 70% win percentage any day of the week VS. any opponent.

Perhaps if OU and the remaining seven (eight?) solidify as a voting block, then UT's power in the conference will be diminished. Thus, UT won't be able to dictate terms to the rest of the conference. Believe me, UT really, really wants to be part of a conference. With the PAC12 and ACC options gone, and having no desire to join the SEC, then where else can UT go? Independence is absolutely the last thing they want to go to as their non-revenue sports will most likely end up in the MWC, or C-USA. UT will have to come to an agreeable settlement over the LHN; they have no other viable options.Do you truly believe the Big 12 will ever be truly stabilized?
I heard a lot of the same last summer after the new TV deal, then look what happened a year later. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice....
I have to believe the TAMU administration learned their lesson. They clearly stated yesterday that they have no intentions of being in the Big 12 next season and I clearly believe they'll be SEC bound in 2012.
Quite clearly, this conference is NOT viable in the long term. Hell, Oklahoma is talking about getting a deal done that will stabilize the conference for FIVE years. Five. That's their major aspirations for the conference - stabilize it for five years. Not 20, not 30, FIVE.
As long as UT is in this conference, there won't be any stabilizing. OU wants to stabilize the conference, but the problem is, they've now lost all of their leverage to do that. They can't play the "We're going to the PAC" card anymore. In other words, I don't see UT making ANY concessions because they no longer have to - UT can dictate terms as long as OU can't threaten to leave.
just to clean up the missed stats, even though they don't change too much, but it is 39-20 and 5 and 3 in last 8. You're stuck in the past a few years, but then again must hawks are.
I could care less about those 50 years, how is KF doing against ISU cause thats all that matters.LOL. Again, I haven't once said ISU would be left out in the cold. Take it elsewhere squateye. A year ago you were throwing out all these scenarios where it was inevitable ISU would end up MWC or MAC.
LOL. I've been very consistent in saying that I think ISU will end up in an AQ league.
I've never once stated that ISU would end up in the MAC. I have most consistently said that ISU would end up in a BCS "leftovers" league - a combination of the Big 12, Big East, and the best of the rest non AQs.
BS.
From May 10, 2010, squatfan (the derision towards you here is earned, hawkfan):
If Texas and Nebraska leave the Big 12, it will be MUCH harder on ISU than it will be on Iowa. Without any doubt, ISU ends up in the MAC/MWC if Texas and Nebraska (on top of Colorado) leave the Big 12. Oklahoma/OK. St. will end up in the SEC and the remaining Big 12 teams will be hung out to dry.
No matter what happens you will still be posting pea-brained drivel, whether 5, 10, or 25 years from now. I, for one, hope it isn't here.
There's a better time and place for a discussion about ISU/Iowa....that isn't what this thread is for.
I'll leave it at that.
Sure you have. You said it repeatedly last year.
Take your dishonest misrepresentations elsewere. You are a fraud. Just because the oldest posts are no longer easily accessible here doesn't mean you didn't say it.
