Glad to hear you're putting what you might believe to the test. That's the way it should be. I encourage you to read Lee Strobel's, "The Case for Christ". Logic fits great with the Bible as well.

I'm sure some will lash out at me. I don't intend to get in any back and forth on here. I'm not trying to convince you; just give you additional food for thought - just be sure and acknowledge to yourself that it takes faith in some things you don't understand in any position you take; e.g., how do you explain the creation of the world & life, if you can't re-create it? There's faith there, in any position you take.

I said NO I don’t want your pamphlet.

I'll help move it. Most of the Quran is regurgitated myths and stories from even older civilizations. The fact people still read it today as anything other than that is sad. However, Muhammad probably did in fact exist and was a pedophile. Its too bad so called Muslims today use him as an excuse to justify all the horrible things they do to others.

Good grief. He made a comment about how he needs to stay humble and remember that he is part of a team and his efforts are only one part of the whole. He makes one reference to the religion that was a part of instilling those values during his childhood and everyone loses their freaking minds!

I'm very much not religious, but if there is one position in sports where you're OK with someone being a preachy choir boy, it's quarterback.

Most of our better players have been pretty visible with their Christian faith. Most of our visible CF posters are pretty vocal with their differing opinion. Neither is new, nor is it an issue. Probably should just get used to it at this point.

I was just thinking Brock has shown far more intelligence and maturity than a certain President of a University. That's pretty impressive.

Yes, comparing his situation and to that of Jesus. Sorry I find that to be a bit much. But of course since I responded to someone invoking religion it causes everyone who is also religious to get super offended even though I did nothing but praise Brock outside of critique one part of what he said. Grow thicker skin and don’t try to insult my intelligence bc I have an opinion you don’t agree with.

Here's the thing for a Christian we are called to model our life according to Jesus. So in essence yes he was comparing, but also as a Christian we know that we can't be perfect and will always need help and to stay humble.

Science and faith are not in conflict. The fact that people believe they are is an example of some of the lies you were referring to above. I agree with Kurttr. I encourage anyone to read the Case for Christ. It doesn't dodge science. It asks science to help answer the question, and science rises to the occasion.

Perhaps the most vacuous form of intelligence is that void of spiritual insight. There can be no denial of the fact that study of the Scriptures sharpens the discerning powers. It is the only true guide in all matters of faith and practice. Those grounded in rational cognition recognize that liberalism fuels such a spiritual void. It has become a plague on our land and an acid to our soul corroding every human container in which it is carried! It sears our conscience cauterizing it in such a way as to make it impenetrable by truth, wisdom, faith and fear of the Lord and creates a vortex of cognitive dysfunction into which many have so obviously fallen.
