If Tiller were a better option, he'd be starting. Fact is that's not the case.

Bingo. 3rd offense in 4yrs, he threw some bad balls today, but the wrs dropped some perfectly catchable balls today, again. i know us fans feel like **** and think we know the fixes, but i would bet the coaches, players feel much worse than we do.

Can someone tell me where Collin Franklin is?

Or anyone not named ARob on our O? Granted, we've had a few bright spots here and there, but other than ARob, there is no consistency on offense. I'm speaking non line here. Seems we finally get an O-line playing well after 7 years and everything but our running game falls to ****.

i guess the thing that is getting to me, and what brought up this whole thread, is that we were throwing the ball all over the field late last year so its obvious we CAN do it.

sure, we didn't run it for **** last year (which i'm glad we can do this yr), but it's not like we forgot how to run and catch. where is the separation? where are the good throws? where are the good plays that leave us open and operating in space with YAC yards? our passing offense looks very pedestrian now and i expected much more coming into the year. hope we can turn it around big time or we're screwed later in the yr when our D gets tired and other team load up against the run

AA throws like a girl. short, deep, over the middle, into the flat, it doesn't matter, the are almost all off by a little.

listen people... i kno that i am known on this site as the furthest thing from an AA supporter.... so kno after watching this game, what in the hell do all of you AA lovers have to say.

AA is not the man for this job. People tell me that i should have a solution to saying that AA is bad and i have one. put anyone else but him in. if we are going to run the ball 80% of the plays then why not have tiller the starting QB, tiller is quicker and faster with better acceleration and he doesnt have that bad of an arm. AA has a mediocre arm at best with mediocre running ability. I WANT TILLER. and i know that i seem like the only person who thinks this on this website, but there were tons of fans by me saying the same thing. Im sorry I am usually in favor of whatever the team decides but I reaaaaaly want to see tiller in the game.

that is all. defense played great except a few key plays and schwartz showed he has real potential as a cyclone. I hope Arob gets better and that we can bounce back from this literally physically painfull loss.

I cant understand why you would want to support a player who is the obvious leader of the team, who plays his tail off every week, is an upstanding citizen who takes the losses harder than probably any of us. He is our best option, he didnt forget how to play quarterback overnight. Its 3 systems in 4 years. You try to switch jobs that many times in 4 years and lets see if you have your job mastered within in a few months. If not maybe we should fire you and hire someone with even less experience.

I dont understand why the best person should be the one on the field. It should be the best player getting the snaps at every position. For AA the issue is with his throwing and his decision making, those could be due to the coaching changes but are FB 101. Things should be getting better for him half way through the season but they dont seem to be.

I agree with you. Right now I can't imagine that our passing game could get any worse with Tiller chucking the rock. I also like that Tiller has big play ability which is something we need now that A-Rob is out. I really like the idea of Schwartz pounding it and Tiller running the QB keeper. I think this could be a real difficult combo to defend.

Do you honestly believe the coaches would keep Tiller on the bench if he was the best option?? Considering they are judged by wins and losses.

One thing I notice is that AA rarely throws in the middle of the field past 5 yards and quite often franklin is there. Bottom line the offense doesn't have the guys who know how to put the game away.

Let's please stop with the pining for the backup quarterback. If Tiller was ready to play and a better option than AA, he'd be out there. He isn't, so he isn't.

I'm going to go berzerk if I hear another "we want Tiller" chant in JTS.

I haven't waded through all of the comments in this thread, but I've gotta vent a little.... with a healthy A-Rob in the game, who knows what the outcome of the game would have been.... but my main comment I want to make is that until ISU gets some monsters up front on the D-line and some nasty D-ends, the Cyclones will more often than not be on the short end of the stick. I'm not questioning their heart, they play as hard as they can and they have a coach who lets them attack... but they are ridiculously undersized and slower than they need to be. I watched a lot of college ball today, and it really bugs me why ISU is so deficient in this area. Watching my girlfriends team (Wisco) made me quite jealous seeing their line sizes on both sides of the ball. There really is no excuse not to get some 6'2+ 290+ players on the line and end. Our LBs have seemingly been smaller as well, but I have no complaints with the LBs this year or in recent seasons. The coaches have to recruit like freaks to improve the D-line, scour the country, scour the JUCOs, look into the penal system football leauges, search Australia, I don't care, just get some legit Big12 linemen in there.
Wow, I feel better now... this internet message posting really works.

AA is doing what he can - imagine your job changing completely every year.

It takes about 3 years on average for someone to be an absolute expert - AA will probably never go a year without a wristband play reminder. Imagine if every time you did you job you had to double check a new set of instructions before doing anything. AA is the right guy and Herman will get him there.

Ya'll will be coming to my neck of the woods by the end of the year - if Rice could win 10 - ANYTHING can happen.

what about the blitz call that our def coordinator called on the last Kstate touchdown. We called the blitz, they had all day to throw and we had minimal coverage in the end zone.

They did get pressure on him, they just didnt get the QB wrapped up.

I just wish we would have blitzed on 3rd and long earlier. He had way too much time then

Uhhh.... what?

They threw and completed the ball to about the 20. He ran it from there.

Lyle had the QB, dead to rights, and just missed him. We had good coverage on their fastest player. I was just a perfect pass in stride. Chalk that play up to the "we are Iowa State" freak scenario. The KSU QB won't make a play like that the remainder of his career.

The 2nd KSU TD is the one where the QB had all quarter to throw the ball. That was simply miserable pressure and the secondary didn't stand a chance.
