And it's very refreshing. I feel like the past staff was too business like. These new coaches seem very down to earth and someone who you'd like to have a 24 pack with. This video kind of shows they like to have fun and don't take anything too serious, which honestly I can really see how kids like them and why they recruit so well.

Not sure a Fresh Prince of Bel Aire reference will resonate with the kids these days, but funny.

It's funny you say that because on Saturday they came out to Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme song, which has glass breaking to start it haha

One of the coaches (I can't remember which one) posted a picture after that showing a "body outline" of where he landed on the floor, made out of athletic tape. Give him credit for bouncing up and playing it cool though.

Just recently on KXNO radio, Des Moines DSM Register and Cyclone writer Tommy Birch was asked about the difference in the current staff vs. the previous staff. He said the current staff is much more business like. Obviously the current staff is today's novelty.

Just watched the current batch of videos on CyclonesTV and all I can say is JPs guys are going the extra mile to market the ISU brand. Whether it was CMC's pre-game speech with all the former Cyclones behind him to the academic honor roll banquet to the pre-game festivities or the students only practice - they are doing all they can to capture the hearts and souls of current students, the alums and the younger generation.

I'm proud of the athletics department JP has built and continues to build on.

I love the idea of getting to the younger generation. I am sorta of in that but with the price of tickets many young families can't do it. I would love to take my family to all home games but 5 tickets for me is just too damn expensive. We went to the Spring Game and loved everything about it. I have 3 girls at home and they wanted to know names and numbers of players and names and faces of the coaches. They can feel the excitement along with everybody else. Someday I will get season tickets and it will be glorious.

Have you looked into joining the Jr. cyclone club? Its a very economical way to get your kids into ISU football games and other athletic events. We did it years ago when our daughter was young (7yrs. old). She's an ISU student now, so it worked. :)

I'd probably agree with this. This staff seems to be operating like a machine. It'll be interesting to see what the gameday product looks like. I'm sure there will be several changes come gameday...beyond Smoke on the Water.

I just hope all of the pre-season excitement translates to wins. No question however, we are ahead of last year.
